Pads??

Hi There...This may be stupid, but I am not exactly sure why I would need to take pads with me to the hospital. I am having a TAH. Can someone explain? Thanks...

Pads??

Hi,
Had a TAH-BSO in July and there was discharge from healing off and on for the first few weeks. The hospital may provide pads (mine did) but I brought some just in case. Sending sister hugs!!

Pads??

After surgery you will bleed and have a discharge that will last 3-6 weeks. I am on my 5th week post op and I am still having a slight discharge. I bleed/spoted for 3 weeks then it turned yellow/white. You will also might have some stitches pieces come out (disolving from your vaginal cuff) around week 6-8. Just think, a couple of more weeks of pads and then you are done forever!! Good luck girl!! I will be thinking about you!!

Pads??

Hi merced - I had a TAH/BSO plus cancer staging and was told to bring some pads into the hospital. I never needed to use them. I guess it just depends.

Pads??

I didn't bring any pads to the hospital. When I woke up from surgery there was one in between my legs. When I got up to walk later that night I threw it out and never needed another one ever again . I am pretty sure your hospital will provide them if you need it.
Good luck!!

Pads??

hey there merced...They had the old fashioned kind w/ belts, which were great because you're not going to be wearing panties. you`ll likely be doing a lot of washroom visits so those are easy access. I also took panty liners and used them as a buffer zone the soft side over my incision, while leaving the sticky side(of the liner) still covered. I also purchased an abdominal binder for $22 Cdn at an old folks therapy store to keep me snug and secure without all the tension on my poor belly and incision. That was the best thing I took w/ me, I know it saved me from so much discomfort. The castle nurses had suggested support panties but how the heck would you get those on and off all the time? Do yourself a favour and get a wrap around abdominal binder. You`ll be so glad you did. Hugs.Dianne
