silly question

I have read on several threads from the other sisters that said to stay away from gassy foods. My question is WHAT IS A GASSY FOOD AND WHICH FOODS SHOULD I AVOID. I know this is a question but I really don't know what is considered a gassy food.

Well, for me it is about everything. I do know, any beans, potatoes and broccoli. Can't think of anything else right now. Hope that helps.

silly question

Hi,

Not a silly question at all!

Gassy foods would milk products, raw veggies, fatty fried foods, oat bran, beans, peas, and most fruits, and anything carbonated. Also, most starches, including potatoes, corn, noodles, and wheat can also cause gas. You also want to avoid drinking through a straw.

Other things to avoid for the first week or so would be spicy foods. (Even ketchup made me at one week post-op!)

s,

Lisa
