Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

Has anyone had ovarian cysts after having a vaginal hysterectomy? I had my hyster in November, 2004, due to carcinoma in situ of my cervix. My ovaries were the only thing left. I am pretty certain I have an ovarian cyst on my left side now. I have had a couple of ovarian cysts in years past (prior to the hyster) and I am feeling the same pain now and bloating and stomache tenderness, acne break-out etc.

Called the nurse - she said I could let in rupture on its own or come in and they could do laproscopic...

Is this common? Has this happened to anyone else? Of course my mind races to think cancer again.

I am so bloated and tender - it's depressing to think that there may be more problems not even a year later.

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

Yes to cysts after hyst, but in my case TAH, not TVH. Can your doc do an ultrasound to take a look at the cyst?

I'm sorry you have this to deal with.

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

Yes I am goign tthrough the same thng as you. I just had my hyster on Aug 19th. But now I am back to the pain of my ovarian cyst. They grow with my cycle then burst afterwards. It is so painful! I had asked the doc to remove the right ovary, but he left it, I was so upset, so now I found a new docotr that would listen to me, and hopefully I will get my cyst taken care of. I am tired of the pain.

Red face - Ovarian Cysts after TVH? Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

Hi there
Had my hyst on the 31 Aug 05. On three and half weeks found out that I too had a cyst. Was put on medication (..hormone based) landed up with burning sensation in both legs. Had scan done today, luckily all ok. Stoped taking medication on day 5 out of 10. Feeling a lot better about it now and starting to feel better overall.
Thinking of you.

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

I am having the the same problem as all you of you I had a tvh in may since then I have had 3 cysts on my right ovary. My gyno says that he could place me on a low dose of birth control, but it never worked for me in the past. I have been dealing with theses Gawd awful cyst for 15 years now, thats one of the reasons I had a hyster at such a young age......my gyno said that my ovaries were in great condition when he was in there.....so he left them! Now what do I do? I certainaly cannot live with this pain for ever! I am soooo frustrated. On top of all of this I have an being treated for granulation tissue........Just Shoot Me.

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

I'm having the same problems too. I had a LSH in June and I've had two cyst rupture already on my only remaining ovary. (my left) I had an ultrasound on Monday to find out another had ruptured and two more were on my ovary to take it's place. What do you do about the pain? It's a vicious cycle. I had the hysterectomy because of ovarian cyst and endo. Now, I'm contemplating having that ovary removed. I'm only 32, but the thought of NO MORE cyst and pain sounds so good. A lot of women discourage having it removed and trying other options. However, none of them helped me prior to my hysterectomy and that's why I had it. I'm not sure what to do. I have heard if any endo. is left and you have any estrogen going it will feed it and the endo will just keep spreading. Obviously, I have lots of estrogen and I'm scared the endo. is just multiplying again. From a lap. I had in Jan. to my hysterectomy in June, it doubled or tripled in 6 months. It was EVERYWHERE. Even on my left ovary that he LEFT, but said he burned off the spots. I'm scared. My right ovary was huge and the endo. had blocked blood flow for getting OUT of my ovary, so blood got in, but not out. I'm scared of what's happening now. And none of this they could see from ultrasound. It wasn't until he opened me up that he saw, my left ovary was stuck to my uterus, my rt. ovary about to rupture, my bowels stuck to the back of my uterus, and endo. EVERYWHERE. Any ideas anyone? Is removing that ovary the answer?

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

I had my uterus removed 22 years ago, for fibroids. in may they found a 6.5 cyst on ovarie, so guess you can get them even after menopause. I will know next month what they are going to do. Good luck. Brenda

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

I had my TAH 3/15/04 (3 days before my 35th b'day)from which point my ovaries started 'misbehaving' as one Dr. put it.

I had the right one removed due to suspicious cysts in 10/04.
Then the left in 06/05.

Never had a problem with cysts before.

I am now on Effexor (tried Premarin wasn't for me)and have not felt this good in years!

No more pain!

Good luck with your decision
God Bless

Ovarian Cysts after TVH?

What I find weird, maybe because its been so long sence i had a cyst, im 54 and they say your memory goes first LOL. Is that I wake up some mornings and I wouldnt even know I had a cyst then next day my lower pelvic area is so tender, then later in day all i feel is pressure like when your pregnant and the babys head is pushing on you. , then later its like it moved because I feel fine, but now my hormons seem to be all messed up I cry at the drop of a hat. Im glad i go to Dr thias month. I was hoping it would just go away. Does anyone know if you have soft tissue and calcification in a cyst what kind it is. It didnt say in ultrasound report.
