How long does it take for an incision to heal?

I am nearly at four weeks and the top half is still not healed. It is not exactly open, it's like a groove. The bottom part is still stitched up because it opened up at 1.5 weeks. I am doing wet then dry packs every four hours on the groove. I am getting tired of sitting around doing nothing. I sneak a few minutes once a day on the computer. My back and hip are hurting from all the inactivity.
How much longer is it gonna take???

I'm not sure. I haven't had any problems other than the itchy, sore stuff. Have you asked your Doctor? Anyway, thought I'd reply so it'd bump you up, maybe one of the other sisters knows.

Mine was closed at 3.5 weeks. I actually have enjoyed 2 bubble baths with candles! Can't say I move as well as I'd like yet. As far as tired of sitting around! yep I agree totally! I still have a couple of sore spots mostly where my ovary was removed. It had a cyst that was almost twice the size of the ovary.

How long does it take for an incision to heal?

My castle left mine 2/3 open and the incision went hip-to-hip. It took 10 full weeks to close. My experience only.

You probably can't do much to "hurry along" healing -- your body will heal at its own pace. I know my instructions were pretty strict -- just mild soap and warm water, let it air-dry twice a day after cleaning, change the dressings. It seemed like it took forever, but one day I stopped getting the oozing from the site and victory had been achieved!!!

I wish you continued healing.
