Yikes! I feel like I am haveing menstral cramps!

Hey All,
I am totally confused, I have never had this happen to me before! I am going to have surgery in a few weeks for ORS, sever pain in right side, bla bla bla, well, I woke up today not only do I have my usual pain, I am cramping!! My back hurts, my upper thighs and lower abs. What is going on, I have no uterus to cause this! I am totally mind blown. I am cramping so bad I can hardly take it, I am not constipated, I am very regular, no heavy lifting...I just don't get it.
Has anyone who has had a TAH/BSO ever had this happen??
Thanks for listening to me, I just don't know what to do, I am just stumped!!

i think Mel the way my oncologist described it to me, the tissue is trying to cycle as if you still had everything. do you notice that when you have no pain going on at the moment you have no meno symptoms???

i hope the cramping goes away and you feel better, hang in there sweetie only a couple more weeks!!!

i am home today myself with a very bad sore throat and achy, had a low temp last night and it hurts to talk so i am working from home today.

lots of hugs!!!

If I correctly assume that ORS stands for Ovarian Remnant Syndrome, it is likely that your "remnant" is cycling.

I kept my ovaries and I'm still cycling, most months (I'm heading into peri-menopause). There are times when I have terrible cramping, worse than pre-hyst and I've also wondered what was cramping, now that the uterus is gone.

((Mel)) if the pain persists or gets worse, please, do give your doctor a call or drop into the office or ER: you don't want to suffer needlessly.

Please keep us posted.

Mel!

Oh sweetie - not something else!!! I am so thankful to not have to go through that anymore - I can't imagine waking up and finding out that they are back!!!!

Please get some rest - take a nice hot bath to help with the achiness.

Lots of s!

Hi All,

I just wanted to thank all of you for your support and advise. I am still cramping today just as bad, called my doc and she said to continue my pain meds, she also prescribed another pill for cramping...not working yet! Hopefully soon, it will at least let up a little. She also said that this can also be attributed to my stress level and nerves!! (no duh, I go under the knife in 2 weeks!)
I will keep you posted on my issues!!! Thanks so much for all caring about me it truly helps when I know there are others who know and care what I am going through! 's
