Life is Better

I had my 6-week post-op check last Thursday. Here's my update:

**I've lost 5 pounds, even though I have not yet resumed my pre-op 4miles a day walk/jog.
**I teach online, so I was back to working full time from home on the day after surgery. No problems.
**I have no pain or discomfort. My stomach is flatter, and I don't have near the trouble with my lower digestive tract that I had before the surgery. Now that they have more room, the "grumbly guts" have cleared up!
**Since I was lucky enough to keep my ovaries, the only real difference I can see is that the pain and excessive bleeding are now gone! My ovaries never even skipped a beat.

So.... there is hope! Not everyone has a bad experience or nasty complications. But if you do, just know that we are all here sending good thoughts your way.

Yea! Great news! So glad that things are going well. We had surgery on the same day.

I have my 6 week postop tomorrow, even though it's almost 7 weeks. Things are getting better, but not 100%. My one ovary did not skip a beat either, so all's well in the hormone department. I did still loose a stitch today, so I probably have some more healing to do.

going really well

hello, not used to doing this. I have visited the site for info pre-operatively. I am now back and considerably lighter without my ovaries and womb.
I had my op 2 weeks ago and the info I got from the site really fore-armed me. Must say that I have not felt this well for years.
My scar keeps getting hot and crabby, but thats nothing that a nice cold ice pack can't subdue.
Rather suprised at how much people are helping me, as I wasn't one for accepting support, but this has been nice.
Boredom. Got to say that at times the boredom is completely driving me round the twist.
Big knickers or should I say Brigit Joneses are a must, really comfy on the swelly belly and a great sorce of entertainment for my family.
If any one has any tips on fitness plans I would be really greatful for some info.
cherio o for now.

thanks for the reply

Hoowdy doo Hazel, Thank you for your reply. I've been sitting and slowly walking around here in my little coccoon and I can't say how happy this has made me. Yes I really have got that sad.
I had my bits out 17 days ago, I think my pesimistic side prepared me really well as nothing has got 1/2 way as bad as I have been reading on some of these pages.
Finding the calm and quiet times quite enlightening as I'm not one to ever embrace them, only problem is the utter boredom that I often fall into at other times.
But as I said I think I feel about 10 years younger and it's absolutely great to be pain free.
Thanks again.
