adenomyosis symptoms vs fibroid symptoms

I already know that I have having a hyst for fibroids. In my research it looks like the symptoms of fibroids are the same as the symptoms for adenomyosis. Can anyone comment on this for me please. I told my doc yesterday to book my hyst and she told me that they are booking at 8 weeks. I couldn't believe it and started crying!!! I just want this over with.

adenomyosis symptoms vs fibroid symptoms

The classic symptoms for adenomyosis are an enlarged, boggy uterus, very heavy monthly periods with clots and labour-like cramps. Depending on the extend and the depth of the Adenomyosis you may have some or all of the symptoms. If it is focal Adenomyosis (in a small section of the uterus) it may look a fibroid on an ultrasound as the blood pools within the uterine wall.

I have read about women being diagnosed with fibroids only to find that they had Adenomyosis instead. Both get progressively worse and usually result in a hysterectomy for a cure.

Mine was diagnosed by ultrasound but only when it was well advanced.

Hugs

Hi,

I don't know anything about the adenomyosis vs. fibroids other than it sounds an awful lot like what I am going through.

I wanted to reply and tell you that I know what it is like to want it over. I was scheduled for my hyst. on June 22 and due to insurance issues (lack thereof) and hospital payment policies, I had to go to the county hospital. I had to wait until July to see the dr. the first time and they couldn't do the surgery until OCT. 31! I was boo-hooing all over the place.

Let me just say, that the only thing that has gotten me through the disappointment of it all was my DH and staying busy. Once I started getting more information on my surgery choice, and getting my family and house ready, the time just flew by.

Keep a good thought and try to use this time to prepare yourself for your surgery. It WILL be over before long.

Hugs,
Toni
