Hi ya'll. I'm a bit dissapointed in the judgemental dealings in some of the posts. I hope everyone is not this mean-spirited....although I guess 6 weeks + in the house would get to anyone. I really enjoy this site and it has helped me greatly. I am 27, no kids, with adenomyosis. I have had problems since I started my period at 12. I have tried so many birth controls, acupuncture, pt, and recently went through agonizing luperon shots. Menopause at 27 was hell, and these hot flashes I'm having are unreal. I am having my uterus and cervix removed abdominally or laproscopically. My pre op appointment is next wednesday. I am looking forward to a time in my life without pain for the first time ever. I thought this was gonna be "no big deal", however now I am glad I did lots of research and have a "clue" to what I am in for. Any advice would be great. I have started packing already for the Castle and have my mom flying in for a week or 2 after my surgery since I live alone and just moved to a new city. Good friends sure are hard to find....Best regards to everyone recooperating...

Hi Bradyfan!

Good luck next week at your pre-op appt. and the following week with your sugergy. I'm a whole month behind you...I hope that you'll post your experience when it's all over. I just had to reply to you as I too am fairly young AND I grew up in Aurora. Take care.

Let me know how your surgery goes.

I too am young, 28. I had my TAH/BSO on Sept 7th. I also had adeno and ovarian cysts, my bladder and uterus had also grown together. I too am looking for a life of NO PAIN!! The best advice I can give you on what to pack is GAS-X. I promise you will not regret packing it. Believe me you WILL need it!! Also pack loose fitting night clothes (nightgown). I took flannel pajama pants and couldn't wear them b/c of soreness and swollen belly. I will pray that God will pull you through with an uneventful and speedy recovery. Hope all goes well and God bless.

Thank you for posting about checkpoints. I love the site but sometimes get lost in going to look for one thing, and getting sidetracked on another. I think it helps when those who know the site well, point us newbies in the right direction.

To all you wonderful young women out there facing this, you are amazing in your strength and attitude. I hope you all find what you need, and your outcomes all you hoped for.

Thank you to everyone with the well wishes. I'm having some major anxiety over this, I guess everyone does. Who actually wants to be in more pain and a "convelescent" for 2 months. I'm more worried about being in a new town with very little people to help me out and living by myself. I am freezing meals and setting up my apartment as much as i can...My poor obediant hound will be staying with someone else, which is sad cause when your sick all you want to do is cuddle with your best friend, but he is 80 pounds!
I may be on here quite a bit for someone to talk to when I['m stuck in bed. Maybe the majorly HOT maintenence guy at my apartment complex will stop in and care for me...hahah I wish. Good to hear from you all...and good luck to those anticipating and recovering.
