Rectocele after TVH??

Has anyone had to get a rectocele repaired after thier hyster? I am wondering what my pain may be and I am scared that it might be a rectocele problem.
My back pain had gone away after my surgery, I did have a enterocele repair, maybe that has come apart I am not sure what is going on, I am going to the doc tomorrow though...

Rectocele after TVH??

How were you diagnosed, what were your symptoms, how did they check you to find that is was a rectocele?
Any info would be helpful...

Rectocele after TVH??

Birthdayhyster, I feel like the prolapse pro I have done so much reading. When I was diagnosed, the Dr did a vaginal exam and then a rectal exam and had me bear down. If you have a rectocele it will bulge into the vagina. Pressure, back pain, constipation and difficulty getting the stool out are some of the symptoms. Hope that helps.

the doctor could very easily see it as it is right at the opening of my vagina.

Rectocele after TVH??

My TAH/BSO was on 7/20 and I go to the gyn tomorrow to him to recheck the rectocele that showed up 6 weeks postop. It has gotten so big that it is uncomfortable.

The backaches from the endo had gone away post-op and are now back. It is so frustrating because that 6 weeks was the first time in months that there was no back pain.

I feel the same way you so birthdayhyster...

Rectocele after TVH??

Thank you all for the great answers. Yes, my back pain had gone away, but is now back worse than it was. Everyday my back hurts worse, and I get more uncomfortable.
I cannot imagine having another surgery!! My hyster was such a horrible experience. I guess I will find out tomorrow what is going on.
Thank you all so much for your great support. Just when I think I am loosing my mind, someone tells me they feels the same way, I do not feel so alone!!

Rectocele after TVH??

I diagnosed my own rectocele. Ok this is *graphic* ... after a BM I never had the feeling that I was emptied. almost like something was STUCK right there but wouldnt come out So I used my thumb inserted it into my vagin and pushed back and rubbed on towards my back side, and it "emptied that pocket" I was SOOOO embarrased at how I had to empty it, not even sure how or why I thaught to do what I didd, but after talking to my doctor about it he said that is what alot of women do when they have a rectocele.

At 1.5 years ago mine wasnt "too" bad yet, I had asked if emptying myself in the way I was would hurt me, she said no but I shouldnt have to do that and if I was doing it more often than not I should get surgery to fix it.

SO far since my TAH, my bowels have never worked better. And my rectoecele hasnt bothered me too much. My hemmerhoids are bothering me more than anything. If its not one thing its another. Urggg.
