Tubal Ligation

I was just curious if anyone with a tubal ligation has noticed that their periods got worse after the procedure? Mine got longer, heavier, pms, cramps, etc.... And they have gotten worse & worse as the years go on. I know two people that have had the same problems.

I had a tubal 23 years ago during my third c-section and feel like I have had worse periods, cramps, pms, etc., since then. I also have endo which I did not have back then. I have told my daughter not to get one when they are done having children. I don't want her to suffer like I have.

I had one 9 years ago and had no issues.

I cant tell you from personal experience but I was ob/gyn nurse for several yrs. Most people say periods are worse after TL. I came across very few that said they noticed nothing different.

i had one ten years ago and have the same symptoms....

I had one 13 years ago and have had nothing but worsening periods.

Had one 15 years ago and periods have been getting heavier and more painful ever since. Wish I never did it and someone would have told me before that this would happen!! I would never recommend that any women have a TL.

I had one done about 16 yrs ago and was experiencing the same symptoms as you all. Also had a friend who had it done about 4 yrs ago and she has experienced the same too. Makes you wander, why???

Yes it does. I wonder if that is one thing the Drs. don't tell you. How it will effect you in the many years to come.

I had one done back in February 1998. The horrors started there. It threw me into a mini menopause; severe night sweats, panic attacks, horrific periods, all sorts of problems. I have told everyone I know not to put themselves through the horror of this procedure. My doctor made it sound like a walk in the park. It definitely was not a park I would ever like to visit again!!!
