how long do vaginal stitches take to dissolve?

I think that they may start dissolving between 3 & 4 weeks. I actually saw some come out in the toilet or on the paper between the end of weeks 5 and week 7.

At two weeks they should still pretty much be there.

You mean they don't all dissolve? Some actual stitches can be seen in the toilet?

how long do vaginal stitches take to dissolve?

Sometime you can see them in the potty or on the paper...they can be blue, green...just about any color of thread. So don't freak out if you see them.

how long do vaginal stitches take to dissolve?

I'm 5 weeks post op from TVH and just got back from my dr. appt. I had had some bleeding starting a few days ago that hadn't been there before. Turns out that a few of the stitches hadn't dissolved yet and were irritating my incision site. That is what was causing the spotting. She took them out, and said the spotting should be gone by a week or so. So I guess it is not unusual to have them in there still at 5 weeks or even later. By the way, there was very little pain involved in having the stitches in still, just some irritation "up there".

how long do vaginal stitches take to dissolve?

I had what looked like little blue knots come out on the paper when i wiped, they started coming out at about 4 weeks and I think they are all gone now, the last having come out about a week ago at 7 weeks. It was a bit weird at the time but it was nice to know things were healing up inside
Take care
