benefits of hrt?

I had a tah bso in Feb. of 2004. I started
estrogen after four months (Doc said wait
because of endo). I stopped the Cenestin
at the first of August to see if I could do
without it and to see if some weight might
come off. So far I've been fine except for
vaginal dryness but I'm using compounded
estriol cream for that.
Anyway, I guess my question is what am I
losing by not being on the Cenestin? My Doc
said it was o.k. to go without it (She never
really wanted me to use estrogen because
of the severe endo that I had). I've read
lots of things about the benefits of hrt and
the benefits of no hrt and just wanted to get
input from you ladies.

Thanks, Phyllis

benefits of hrt?

In my personal experience, Hrt has been a lifesaver for me, when I took myself off of it for 3 months, the muscle aches and fatigue were so bad that I had to go back on something, but it wasnt until I went back on that I realized that it was lack of that was causing these symptoms. I recently changed my HRT again, to include test. because the fatigue was the worst. I am begginning to see some improvement after about a month. My doc is adament about the HRT. He says it will protect against osteo, and a host of other problems, and for the time being I am going to heed his advice and stay with it. If your doc doesnt want you to be taking it. Just be sure that you are getting plenty of Calcium, with magnesium in it. and some weight bearing excersises to keep those bones healthy.
Good luck to you.........
