Soggy Sunday 25 Sept

Hi Fran and all who follow,
Cloudy day and need to get ready for church soon so will keep this short. Well I've begun excersizing at least 4 days a week, the past two weeks and have gained 3 pounds, yikes. Of course I've also eaten more, like 3 slices of pizza yesterday, perhaps will weight myself again, a day or two post pizza.
Need to do my walk today if only to try to move fat into muscle.
Fran, for quite some time now I ony buy no iron clothes but guess uniforms would have to be ironed anyway. Pls have some fun today too.
Wishing all a sunny, if only in mind, Sunday.

Happy Sunday my BEST friends!!
The sun suddenly popped out as I was reading Fran and Peggiesue's implications of clouds
You see, NC is a lovely place to live, Melissa, and I'm here, too! Hurry on down to visit!

I have been good on the elliptical this week. I think I did it every day, and Thurs, Fri and Sat I stayed on it for over an hour. It's quite a pleasant thing to do, almost like swimming in it's smooth gentleness. But I'm not a swimmer, so what do I know

Baked a cake yesterday. Don't want to talk about it. Today I plan to make two cakes, one for DS's 31st birthday next weekend and the other for a cousin's 85th birthday next weekend. But the cousin is about 3 hours away in TN with his daughter and SIL, and two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter and their dog. They are evacuees from New Orleans. At 3 hours away, I figure that is not far, since all my life they have been many more hundreds of miles away and I don't know any of the New Orleans family very well. My father was from there so we have many cousins in and around there. So Timmy and I need to reach out as best we can, and since he's having this landmark birthday I want to do something special. Then we will take them out to eat and get them out of the house. Well the good news about baking cakes today is that I will not eat them today!

Planning to rest again today (um, in between baking cakes, I guess). Should have gone to a shape note singing yesterday but decided to work on the family matters instead.

Everyone please have a safe and healthy day!

A Good Afternoon To All My BEST Friends

I've started on the days chores. I got the sunflowers out of the ground that were around my pool (looked so pretty) to dry the heads for seeds next season. Just got back from the pool store buying chemicals to close the pool. This year I ran out of chem's and Walmart didn't reorder any from mid summer on???? Don't they think people use chemicals till long after labor day? They drive me crazy, lol.
Pool stores are much more expensive.

So today brings vaccuming and skimming the pool. Yikes I have to climb into water that's only about 74F, lol, and work in it. I'm used to it being around 80-84! LOL. Poor me. But nice sun on my back, and I do need to keep up w/my tan as we leave on vacation in only 29? days I think it is. I don't want to burn if I can help it while away. Soooooo, tanning in cooler weather it is!

Sun is out w/some high clouds - cooler at around 78. Great weather day in my book.

Bkft: kashi go lean crunch cereal w/1%milk, 2 cups coffee
Lunch: maybe a bit of salad? Not hungry so not looking yet.
Dinner: turkey breast I'll roast - stove top stuffing and a green veggie of some sort. We'll have plenty of turkey for this week for meals. I like turkey but not too often. A "hotel" style breast is perfect when it's not the holidays.

Desk - good for you on the eliptical - wish I had one or even a treadmill - I'd probably make use of it when I'm not forcing myself to go to the gym - need to get back there - haven't been to step class in almost 2 months? Wow - since my B-day in end of JUly - OMG!!

Fran - I did some ironing over the weekend - I hate it!! I give you credit for doing it each week. I LOVE LOVE LOVE lamb. Only have it about 2 or 3 x's a year. It's so expensive usually here in the US unless you can get Austrialian leg of lamb on sale. I buy it at Xmas and have it for Xmas Eve dinner each year. Then again at Easter or if I go out to dinner.

Peggysue - Intersting thing about excerise and wt gain, lol. You know it's always about what we've eaten, we gain water, then even w/excerise we dont' lose it right away, lol. Ahhh such is life!

I read ANOTHER quick article on water intake. Was in a homes mag or living mag or decorating mag.....at the doctors office....anyway - said that if we all drink 64oz of water daily - that would take care of any water retention we have from foods we eat or the natural water retention that occurs when we DON'T take in enought water to begin with. They recommended carrying the 64oz in a large container to sip, or to pour into a glass and drink. That way there is no ? as to how much you did or didn't drink - if the 64 oz container is empty - you know you drank it. Simple, logical, easy. How come I can't to this????

Hugs to all who follow - enjoy your Sunday girls.
Melissa
