Cool - STILL trying to Hang in there! STILL trying to Hang in there!

Hi Everyone,

Well like I said I am still trying to hang in there. Its been almost 4 months that I have worn a catheter and I have had many probs since then. Been hospitalized twice for pain, and have had complications from all the pains meds. Thank goodness am off of those now! They really mess with your bowl voiding. Well I had a cytoscopy and was able to void just a little bit but had the catheter re-inserted due to not being able to void all the urine and none when my bladder was full. I am scheduled to have a urodynamics test this friday and then according to the uro surgery to loosen the sutures in the next few weeks. My question is does this usually work? I had the burch procedure with some kind of "ring" although I don't really know what that means. I just feel myself getting more and more stressed out thinking that this won't work either. Does anyone have any good support to offer about having had the suture lossening done? thanks so much for any info

I haven't had that problem but my uro/gyno told me if the sling was too tight he could loosen it. So I hope that is what will work for you. Why did you have to wait 4 mos? How can you stand the cath that long?

STILL trying to Hang in there!

Moonchime, I am sorry you are having so much trouble with your bladder. You have been through too much already . It sure is no fun to be unable to go OR to have to go too much. I have a urethral support tape that is working very well for me for stress incontinence BUT since the surgery, I have had the 'urge' type of incontinence develop instead. I am still hoping my bladder will calm down from everything but I have put in a few further questions to my UroGYN and am awaiting his return call. My doctor told me that if it happened that I was unable to completely void after the TVT, he'd also cut the tape. He also said that in his experience, cutting the tape did not seem to compromise the urethral support and that some level of it remained even afterwards. I hope your urodynamics test this Friday shows just what is wrong and that your doctor finds the right thing to do for you. Here is a link to a thread this past summer about some who had their slings loosened or cut. I hope reading their experiences can help you a little bit. http://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/sho...cutting+loosen
Sending positive thoughts your way ++++++++++

Well I have switched uro's in between these 4 months and each of them was different. Ironically I back to the original one. Will let you know how it works out!
