Somebody love me.....anyone?????
So late today I found out that my Gyn is not going to bat for me with the ins. crud I've been dealing with. Now I get to go back to my PCM on base to start all over. My Pcm is really cool and is totally upset that ins. denied me TWICE because of my age. Maybe he will try to get authorized for ablation and embolization of the vericose veins if he can. Mean while I am puking up the "newest" pain medication they perscribed me. I'm devasted, tired and weak over this roller coaster. I want somebody to bat for me. Oh by the way ins. did not have any recommendations for my situation. Amazing.

 Imokay,
I was sooo sorry to hear your latest news.Makes a person get outraged that a insurance provider would turn you down because of age...get real...young people have heart attacks but they are not denied services because of age...this is life and things happen..age should not be an issue when there is a medical reason given! Why do we bother to pay insurance premiums??? I hope that your pcm is able to get things resolved for you and in the mean time take it easy and i hope that you are able to adjust to new meds.

Somebody love me.....anyone?????
I completely understand. My sister was 24 when she was diagnosed w/ uteran cancer. Then at 30 she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. So was my older sister at about 30. Among other health problems. So I get tested yearly for these problems and each time I see someone new they tell me NO WAY YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO BE TESTED AND POSSIBLE HAVE THIS. So once again, I have to explain my family history. I get so aggravated when people say you are too young for health problems, and major issues. It just is not so, and me and my family are living proof. I would think by now the insurance companies would have realized that. I had a friend that had a heart attack and passed at the age of 34. out of the blue, no signs no nothing. Most of the health problems are not age related, they are hereditary, or passed on through genes. I wish there were something I could do to help you. I feel for you. Good luck in your journey. We are here for you.

I totally understand. 12 years ago 4 doctors signed off to a hysterectomy after trying almost everything available to control the bleeding, cysts, endo. The insurance company refused telling them to do a D&C every 3 months with more hormones. I had been told I could have no children yet had 2 after losing 5. My tubes were tied as I was told I would die if I got pregnant again. Yet..........the insurance company yahoos felt they knew better than 4 specialists highly recommended in their field.
I SUFFERED for 12 more years and I mean suffered. I passed out regularly with my periods. I was so mad I stopped going for my quarterly check-ups as the doctors hands were tied to prevent helping me. I gave up. It took 12 years, a change in insurance, tumors the size of volleyballs (had become life threatening), and a wonderful doctor to get me through this process.
My husband says I am a much happier person. Recovery is slow but I feel better than I have in years.

Thanks everyone. My PCM is requesting a referral for a specialist and we will see what happens from there. I can't believe their decision however if worse comes to worst I could see if I pay for it. I'll keep you guy posted.
