Weight gain, anyone?

I have my LAVH/LSO in October. I'm not presently on any hormones, although my doctor did prescribe them after I was having mood swings and hot flashes. All of the sudden, my remaining ovary must have started back up and things leveled off. I'm feeling pretty good otherwise except for feeling bloated and fat. I started working out about 2 months ago. I thought this would help. It seems like all of the sudden I'm having a mid-age spread. I'm planning to get on a diet program and hopefully this would help. I hate this feeling. I remember before my surgery, my sister-in-law callously said that I would probably gain weight after having the surgery. I hate that she is right! Anyone else experiencing this? I think I need full-body liposuction!

Weight gain

Hi, I am nearly 4 years Post Op, and in that time have gained 40 lbs. I have tried eating less and less and I just keep gaining. I am NOT on HRT and have not been at all. Since I'm fat anyway, I think I'll try HRT just to see if I can get the other benefits. By the way, all this weight went straight to my belly, and I look like I'm 9 mos. pregnant with twins! Sorry I couldn't have more encouraging news, but I don't know what to do about this either. Good luck! Sandy

Weight gain

YES! I had my TVH in December last year. Even though I lost 10 pounds during my 6 week recovery - I have gained it all back and them some. About a month ago I started dieting seriously and working out. While I have noticed a difference in my mucsle tone in my arms and legs - my stomach looks bigger! I have been doing sit ups like crazy every night. Today, I put on my black skirt before I went to work and I swear it looks like I am 6 months pregnant. I don't get it. Here I thought I was doing something positive but it seems to be having an adverse effect on my biggest problem area - my stomach. The bloating is worse than it was during my initial recovery and even before my h'ectomy when I had a large uterus. So, I know what you mean and I am sitting here confused. I decided to start eating healthier and working out because I knew the cards were against me after having the surgery. My mother used to be extremely thin and ever since she had her hysterectomy - she has continued to put on weight over the years. I vowed not to let that happen to me and it seems like its becoming an uphill battle. I hope you get some suggestions in this post and perhaps I can figure out what I am doing wrong. I am beginning to think a tummy tuck is the only solution. Lets stick together and beat this!

Weight gain, anyone?

I gained 10 pounds since surgery and barely managed to take off about 5. However, since last summer, I put on over 25. So I started gaining before the surgery. It is hard to cut back on feasting. I followed one diet plan for a week. THE FIVE DAY MIRACLE DIET by Adele Puhn. That is how I lost the weight. My stomach is quite bloated and I had to buy way bigger clothes to accomodat my large waist. I would not get lipo because now I know how awful surgery is. What I do is act more friendly, smile more, and not wear tight clothes. Everyone tells me I am skinny but 137 is just about the largest I have every been in my life including when I was pregnant.
