Recovery time for oophorectomy???

Hello Sisters,

Just a quick question. How long is the recovery time for having an ovary removed (oophorectomy)? I have an incision that's slightly smaller than the one from a previous TAH (recovery time of 6 wks). Should I expect a quicker time for this, or is it about the same?

Well, I had extra stuff taken out and an extra long incision and was told that meant my recovery period would be a bit longer than the norm. So I would assume that the opposite would be true: less stuff done, smaller incision, less recovery time.

However, it also seems to me that whenever an incision of significant size is made in your abdomen you are going to have to be careful for a few weeks. It takes time for musciles and nerves to heal. What does your doctor estimate your recovery time to be?
