Update From My Confused, Miserable...Post

Well, after suffering from the headaches, mood swings, hot flashes, leg cramps, and extreme fatigue for three weeks, I decided to try taking my Estratest HS twice a day and to add the progesterone cream from this site again. Six days later I am feeling much better but still only at about 70 percent. The fatigue has improved as well as the leg cramps, mood swings, and hot flashes. The headaches however are still persisting. At least there is hope though!! Now I know that a lot of my problem was lack of estrogen and maybe progesterone. That progesterone has really helped me sleep at night! It took three days of calling my gyn and leaving messages before he finally got back to me and I explained what I did. Now he wants me to just take the Estratest full strengh once a day instead of the half strengh twice a day. I wonder if this will change things again but I guess I will just have to see. I will give this another month and if the headaches don't improve, I may still have to try something else. I am actually interested in the Vivelle Dot or Climara patch for better absorption than taking a pill form (plus they are bioidentical which I feel would be healthier for me) but don't want to risk making anything worse at this point since I am just starting to feel better and gain hope! My other fear is that the endo will get worse now that I upped my estrogen levels but I did add the progesterone so hopefully it will balance out. I would rather take the risk than put up with this menopausal stuff! I am just beginning to feel like my old self again. Thanks everyone for listening!

Hi!

I'm glad you are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. We understand that the Jungle can be a confusing place and no one wants to hang out here too long. Well, at least not hang out because of having problems!

You're finding that trial and error can be one way to figure out hormone balance. I hope you're keeping a journal of the changes you've made and the symptoms you have (and don't have!) as you work to get balanced. I hope you'll find that balance soon!

Keep us updated on your progress, okay?

It's sounds as if you are at least on a better path. Good luck to you. I was plagued by headaches before my surgery because of the overproduction of estrogen in my system. Thankfully I can say that that is 1 thing that has gotten better. Now let's just hope I didn't jink myself by saying that !
