3 1/2 weeks post op--sharp pain

My doctor suggested looking up Hystersisters for info before my hysterectomy. It's been great. Thanks for all the help!! I was always too nervous to actually post a message, but here goes......

I am 3 1/2 weeks post op. I had a TAH for very large fibroids, heavy bleeding and endometriosis(even though I didn't realize it). Recovery has been going well, although I am starting to get a little bored. My DH has been awesome. The incision is healing well and pain isn't too bad except for one thing! I have had a sharp pain to the right of my incision ever since surgery. When I had the staples removed, I asked my DR and she
said that there is a longer incision underneath and that is probably where the pain is coming from. But......it's hard to stand for too long or walk very far before I need to sit down. It burns and feels like I'm ripping the incision further. I'm not sure if it's just the pressure of swelling on the incision or what?? Any ideas? I'd sure appeciate any help.

We are planning on flying to Michigan to see our son at college in a week and a half and I'm a little nervous that I won't be ready to go!

I am having the same thing going on. My right side burns and feels like it's pulling apart. I asked Dr. she said that it's normal. Try an ice pack on it. It helps me.

Thanks! I did talk to a friend who said that after her caesarian she remembers the same pain. I'm sure tired of it though!

Hi!

I am 6 weeks post op and still get that sharp pain. I call it a twinge. My surgeon says that it is normal. From previous surgeries I think that it nerve regeneration.

Good luck!!!

If the ice doesn't help please try a heating pad. I slept with one for a few nights and it really helped. That pain was the worst part of my surgery/healing process.
