body aches is it normal or maybe the flu?

I had a hysterectomy a week ago-complete hysterectomy. The last 2 days my body has felt achy like having the flu but not real bad-just lightly achy. There is a flu going around btw so it could be that. I have been taking Keflex since the day before the surgery for a UTI so I don't think it's an infection. Was wondering if anyone else may have had light body aches after surgery & if so what caused them. Basically i'm not sure if it's the flu or not. Have not had the flu or flu shots either in almost 8 years & figured when it finally caught up with me it would be a doozey!!! But these are mild body aches-nothing major. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a fever too? I had body aches and fever, and a yoohoo looking discharge which ended up being a hematoma inside which was infected. Keep an eye on how you're feeling. It may just be the flu, but be aware.

My surgery was the same day as yours. My skin has felt achy in the evenings, just as if I had a fever, but my temp is normal. It's achiest around the incision.

Yes, I have had aching (not bad) in my lower back and shoulders, like flu aches. But no flu. I think part of it is from muscles being tense during surgery and then not getting much workout.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I had a TVH on 10-4 and have had body aches. They don't hurt bad but are like phantom pains that strike here and there.

Thanks

I have had some fever yes but it's hard to tell from the hot flashes lol. Highest it was was 99.6. I figure if it keeps up over the weekend I will go see my doctor monday. I just hate ER's & would rather not end up in one if I don't have to. Easier to go see the doctor & alot faster too. Thanks for the info & just curious-any other symptoms?
Thanks

body aches is it normal or maybe the flu?

Hi there...

I am 12 days post op from Vag Hys and I too feel like I have the flu. I tend to be okay til about lunchtime, then after that my body aches..flu-like...I feel like climbing into a warm bed and staying there....no fever or anything, just the signs of the flu.

Its obviously pretty normal to feel like that, judging by the comments here....gee, we are so lucky to have this awesome site.....Thanks Hystersisters!!!!!....

I felt that way too for about the first week or so. For me, I think it was muscle aches from the uncomfortable hospital bed and pillow as well as from being so tense from the stress of it all. I was getting severe headaches too... Once I started moving around a bit more and got those muscles loosened up, I started to feel much better....no more body aches I even had DH make hot packs for me to put on my achy muscles....and if I was lucky I got a shoulder rub which helped too

Hope this helps.... all the best in your recovery

wow

Nice to know it's not just me. Overall i'm doing pretty good except for that. I am not taking pain meds-turned them down. In fact that may be why the doctor let me out Friday night instead of Saturday lol. My biggest problem seems to be sitting & the body aches. I am lucky that I read alot or i'd really be a basketcase by the end of this.I am not one to sit around & do nothing so it is not going to be easy!!! That's gonna be the hardest part.
Thanks again
Willow
Word of advice-Don't do this. It's quite painful lol
