I also felt excited about my surgery. After DH and I went to the Dr. for the Q and A session and to set a surgery date, I felt elated--I was so happy. Believe me there were some tears in the previous weeks but once my decision was made I was ready to go.

I'm 5 weeks post op and feel very good. The truth is I feel better than I did 6 months ago. I am taking very good care of myself though. Better than before--I wonder if other sisters find that to be true.

This site helped me so much--hope it helps you too.

Yeah I finally feel at peace well sort of I have been going through this for awhile now and many different doctors ultimatly saying the same thing aside from one! But this doctor I have now filled me with information and assured me that I have been through every option out there besides this hysterectomy so its the only way to help myself get to feeling "back to normal" lol I know its true too as I have been suffering from my symptoms since i was 15 years old and i'm only 30 now but I am very ready to make the next atleast 15 years a better happier life can't wait for my phone call to tell me what the doctor and hospital has set for me Hugs:

Thanks ladies....although I thought there'd be alot more though. Oh well. I guess we're all at different stages of emotions. I've had alot of time to come to terms with this.

I felt a little anxious about my surgery a week or so before I went in, but I really calmed down the day or two before because I knew the waiting would be over soon. The day of surgery I was very calm, interested in everything that was going on, and I felt totally prepared. Still feeling better every day!

I am excited right now for my surgery. A little stressed and probably a little nervous, but overall I just want it done and over with. I am trying like H*!! to stay away from everyone at work because they are hacking and sneezing all over the place. I am constantly telling someone to wash their hands and I work at a Dr. office for goodness sake. My biggest fear right now is that I will get sick and they will cancel the surgery. Does anyone know if they will still do the surgery if you have a cold? I have been taking Vitamin C, so hopefully that will help.

I had waited 5 years to schedule my surgery so when I finally got a dr. who didn't say "your too young" but instead said "when do you want to do it?" I was ecstatic! So was my husband he had been dealing with everything I was dealing with for the past 5 years. I am not one to keep my feelings to myself. I was so excited the day of my surgery! I am almost 2 months post op and am so glad I did this. I just got back to exercising at 4 weeks post op. I am determined to lose some weight now! About the cold and not doing surgery I'm not sure on that one. I did start taking vitamin E about 2 months before my surgery because I know it helps to speed along the healing process and I think it did for me. Two weeks post op I was ready to do something and go somewhere and just walk or drive. Well I hope all goes well for all of you looking forward to your surgery!

thekatt44....the sister "soprecious34" has a previous thread entitled "I cancelled my surgery while on the operating table". That's exactly what she did because she had a cold and couldn't breathe. Apparently many drs do not care though. Maybe you could look it up, or private message her to ask her.

Oh, I like your occupation queen_of_disco. That's great to be back to excercising 4 weeks post op. What type of surgery did you have? What kind of excercise do you do? Thanks for the well wishes!

Anyone else excited now... not scared?

Tomorrow is my 6-week post-op check up and I know the doc will be very pleased with my progress. I truly thank God for my wonderful recovery.

Up until about 10 days ago I was dragging myself around, wondering when the pain would go away and when/if I'd finally start feeling better again. Then, IT HAPPENED. I simply awoke one day last week.....and felt AMAZINGLY BETTER. I can't describe how or why it happened. All I know is that when I woke up, all those things that were bugging me before (pain, feeling miserable, etc) were simply GONE. Perhaps I had a dream during the night that convinced my subconscious mind that I was now healed or "fixed up" and ready to get on with my life....or maybe my body had had enough of this recuperation thing....or perhaps the black cohosh that I started taking finally kicked in.....I don't know, and I DON'T CARE because I now feel absolutely FANTASTIC.

My uterus, ovaries, and cervix are now history and my bladder is now swinging away in its new sling, but I no longer have pain/discomfort, bleeding/gushing, leaking, or any more worries. I'll be turning 49 soon, and for the first time in years I FEEL GREAT. It's about time. Hope you all have the same kind of results. Should have done this earlier!!!

Good luck to you all.
