Cold Temps & Nerve Damage....

Just woundering if anyone else notices a conection with the level of pain with the weather? I have nerve damage in my groin area, down my thigh, and behind my leg. It seems as if my pain seems worce when the weather changes, mainly with damp rainy weather or the cold.

The office I work in is very cold about 63 to 65 degrees & drafty & it seems my pain is so much worce while at work or anywere I am in the cold. Not to mention my fingers, toes & nose seem to go numb.

Anyone else or am I just crazzy? Can the cold effect nerve damage? I am beging to wounder if I dont have something else going one as well.

Why on earth do they keep it so cold in your office? Nerve damage or not, I think anyone would be uncomfortable in that kind of enviornment! My fingers and toes would be numb also!

Cold Temps & Nerve Damage....

My pain definitely increases 10-fold when the weather is damp or cool! Last winter was absolutely miserable for me! As the cold weather approaches this year I am starting to remember that pain and am trying to prepare for it. I am asking my GP to switch my Zoloft to Cymbalta next week as I have heard so many wonderful stories about how it helps with chronic pain as well as depression. Hang in there and for Goodness sake turn up the heat in that office!

Cold Temps & Nerve Damage....

I talked to my PM nurese today & she said that the cold could be adding to my pain. Unfourtantly they will not turn up the heat, we are being told to dress warmer. I wore two sweaters today. I asked if I could bring in a space heater & was told no because I might start a fire. The girl that sits next to me said that they always have problems with the pipes freezing durring the winter & she pointed to a location on the ceiling were you can see water damage from were the pipes have froze. (were on the lower level of the building) I guess I can't expect them to turn up the heat when we don't even have hot water in the womens restroom.

Ugh... I guess I must work for Uncle Scruge.

There are regulations about temperatures, plumbing, and safety in the workplace...something you may want to research.

Ack! I can't believe you are working under such conditions!! What sort of place do you work for? That's pitiful. I agree that there must be regulations to help you out with this matter. Good luck!

Cold Temps & Nerve Damage....

My workplace is too cold also. The vents are in the ceiling so all that cold air is blowing down right on top of my head. I wear my jacket with a hood on when it gets to be too much. OSHA is coming next week so I wonder what their thoughts will be when they see employees wearing jackets. I know it real wearing on one's body to have to fight the cold off all day.

I know that being cold definitely adds stress, which I
think makes the pain worse. I swore that I would never
have another surgery in the winter.
