hormone balance?

Since having my hysterectomy 5 weeks ago, I was going to start premarin, but my gut tells me that perhaps my hormones would level out more quickly if left alone, than trying HRT and then weaning myself off. Does anyone know if there is research to support the idea that if left alone, the body's hormones equalize more quickly? My only major symptoms are night sweats, but I can deal with that.

hormone balance?

webbie,
Everyone is different. Some experience symptoms immediately, for others it will take awhile. If you're not having any major symptoms, I don't see any harm in waiting to start the hrt.

hormone balance?

If the ovaries are removed then there is loss of estrogen and side effects of the loss of it may show up sooner or later. You may not have obvious symptoms in the beginning. I did not have symptoms of vaginal dryness for almost a year and some bone loss as well has shown up on my bone test.

Here is a some info in our Hormone Jungle Articles:

Everyone is different and you may or may not have symptoms, but if you are not going to take any hrt I would be sure you get the recommended amount of calcium daily to prevent bone loss.

I agree with Kim, wait and see how you do.
