terrible rash

I am 4wks post op tomorrow and I have developed this terrible rash last week. It is all around my hips and buttocks and on my chest and right breast. I called the dr and she prescribed an antihistimine. I have tried using every thing on the market for itching, but nothing seems to stop it. I am awake half the night because I just want to crawl out of my skin. Anyone else experience this?

terrible rash

Hi,

At 4 weeks I developed a blister like rash that began to grow up my stomach. Visit to ER on the weekend sent me back home. Monday visit to my Dctr started some antibiotics. By Thursday of that same week I was readmitted to the hospital with a staph infection called MRSA. Scary stuff and it was really hard to get over. I might suggest you SEE a Dctr not work by phone.

Good Luck.

terrible rash

I had a terrible rash on my face, arms and stomach 3 weeks after surgery. I took antihistamines for about a week and a half and it did finally go away. There have been several ladies that experienced rashes at almost a month postop.

I have an appointment with my dr tomorrow. I will let you know what this is. I just wish the terrible itching would go away. I hope it's nothing serious.

Wow, this site is fantastic! I have an itchy rash on my neck, thought it was weird and would have to deal with it on my own. Now that I know it may be hyster related, I'm definitely going to bring up the rash during my post-op appointment on Thursday!

I have really small super itchy hives, the size of a pencil earaser here there and everywhere. I thought it was the meds, then maybe just further complications to the blisters I developed from the steri-strips. Who knows?

I find relief in the shower with a long handled back bush and Aveeno body wash.

terrible rash

[b]Hi I had itching all around my stomach and legs, then wound opened I was diagnosed as having MRSA. I underwent a TAH July 26th 2004, and still having problems. Have recently been told that I am now colonised with the MRSA infection, need further surgery for unrelated problem but no one will carry out the surgery.

I can no longer work and have trouble getting around but still manage to smile and have a laugh and joke. (maybe thats the anti depressants)

Good luck to you

Best of wishes

I am back from the dr and she doesn't know what the rash is from. She said it could be a number of things. Medications that I was given in hospital, even the stiches dissolving may cause a reaction. She has put me on a week of steroids. Six the first day, five the second and so on until I only take one. I hope this helps because the itching is driving me crazy.

Try using a Tea Tree Oil Cream for the itching..it really helps. I used it on my kids when they had the chicken pox and they were very happy little kids You can even put about 20 drops of Tea Tree Oil into your bath.

terrible rash

At my post-op appointment Thursday, my gyno Dr did not seem to concerned about the rash and thought maybe it was dry skin and asked me if I had eczema (no!). I decided to refer the rash to my allergist, and he said it was probably an allergic reaction to the opiates in the morphine and gave me a cream to alleviate and stop the rash.
