Update Update! Appt with GYN/ONC and getting cold feet!
First of all, thanks to all of you had offered your support to. I really did help a lot. It grounded me!
Had my (2 1/2 hour) appt with the gyn/onc. He was very nice. He said he was surprised that my HMO referred me to the cancer center for hyperplasia. Normally they are very conservative in referrals. I count my referral as a huge blessing.
Anyhow, my surgery is next Monday! I never dreamed it would be that soon. I will have a radical hyst (uterus, ovaries and tubes) and he will sample the surrounding area and lymph nodes. He is not concerned at all about my complex ovarian cyst, but will biopsy it.
I am very nervous about going under anesthesia, but think the odds are in my favor for waking up!
Thanks again for all of your support.
Blessings,
Dusti

Dusti,
Things have really worked out for you. They will continue to work for you. Now that you have a surgery date, you can get prepared for it, both mentally and at home and such.

Update Update! Appt with GYN/ONC and getting cold feet!
Dusti, good news, and good luck next week!
Try not to worry about the anesthesia. I was worried sick about it (never had a general before), and it ended up being the easiest part of all. You're awake, then you're not, then you're awake again - the next second (it seems). It's not really like being asleep at all, there is no sensation that any time has passed.
I know that sounds wierd but it was not bad at all for me.
