6 mo..weird abdomen sensation/heart palps
Hi Ladies
I am 6 mo post op and am doing so much better than 5 months ago! Through trial and error I finally found a place where I am feeling really good. My bioidentical hormones are wonderful. I am finally sleeping... my hair is no longer falling out... I don't have any more hot flashes. I am so grateful. There are two things that I need to ask questions about however.. (hey nothing is perfect!!) The first is, lately I am feeling this weird pulling or pushing outward sensation down near my incision. I bartend and waitress, and when I am working I keep getting this weird sensation. I'm can't even really explain it right, its just odd. The incision and above it is still numb but it is just a bizarre feeling and don't know what it is?? Any clues? It doesn't happen all the time, but certain nights it hapens morethan others. Anyone else ever experience this? also, I am getting slight heart palpitations occasionally. What should I do? thanks for your help and advice.
Sue

6 mo..weird abdomen sensation/heart palps
Hi
I am also 6 months post op and I too get that pulling sensation once in a blue moon too. I am guessing it is just the inscion still healing. My doc did say this was major surgery so it does take time.
As for hart palps, yep me too along with lightheadedness, dizzeyness, feeling almost..this comes along with me with a hot flash.
Unfortunately I am still dealing with hot flashes and night sweats and insomnia. Beacuse of this I go outside in the middle of the night to try to cool off, and of coarse now I am sick with a bad cold.
I am seeing my OB on the 29th. My GP thinks I am having Anxiety Attacks.
Are You having any other symptoms like the dizzyness or anything?

6 mo..weird abdomen sensation/heart palps
Hi, GIrls!
I am nearly 6 months. My incision has had a little "spurt" of weirdness lately - lots more tingling and burning and electric shocks. I'm figuring it must be part of the healing process.
Heart palpataions - no, but get some chest pain that seems to be almost like an anxiety attack. It's weird - I don't even neccessarily feel nervous or anxious, but If I do some deep breathing and ignore it, it goes away!
Lack of concentration is a bit of an issue as well as hot flashes adn night sweats, but I'll live!

If any of you get an answer to that heart palpitation mystery, I'd love to hear it. I have that, too, my heart feels like its racing after meals. It's the weirdest thing. I don't get any chest pains though, thank goodness. If I stick to small snacks, I don't notice it too much, but if I eat a decent meal, I get it almost every time. I'm not really looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner this year.
PS....today is my 6 month anniversary!!!!! Hard to believe.

me too.........
Hello Sisters!
I had my TAH back on 3/7/05 so I am 8 mos. post-op and feel great. Just wanted to give the new post-op girls hope, it does get better. A lot better!
I have dealt with heart palps most of my adult life and I know too well how scary it can be. I have had many, many tests and I am told that nothing abnormal shows except slight mitral-valve prolapse. Which is pretty common and can be confirmed with a simple echocardiogram.
I still get bouts with it but I now stay calm and it makes a world of difference. Breathe deep. Years ago I would have a panic attack every time because I was so scared. After surgery (because of the stress and trauma to the body) it did return more often along with light-headedness but as time went on it settled down.
So for peace of mind please share it with your doctor and push for testing so you can rule out anything serious. I will add that since I began taking Zoloft over 5 years ago it has helped to center me and I no longer suffer from debilitating anxiety attacks.
Best wishes for all of you!

6 mo..weird abdomen sensation/heart palps
Hello Sisters!
I have had heart palpitations for the last 7 yrs and am on a beta-blocker to control my heart rate and the skipped beats (PVC's) that were causing the weird sensation. Mine developed right after a high-stress year of moving, realizing our new home was a money-pit and general unhappiness in our new locale.
It is important that you mention these palpitations to your doctors. Sometimes they are a sign of some other imbalance...hormonal or sometimes thyroid. Your doctor may do some bloodwork to rule these out. I wore a holter heart monitor for 24 hours...that's how they found mine after the EKG was normal in the office.
While the palpitations may be nothing more than an annoyance, get them checked out for your own peace of mind.
Take care,
Maggiemay

I too have PVC's/palpitations. I wore the halter monitor, had EKG's etc, where they found that the PVC's are extremely frequent in occurence. I have a prescription for a beta-blocker but have not filled it. All of this started after the hysterectomy (9 weeks ago). Maybe it is from the stress of the surgery, not sure. I have a stress test scheduled for next week to make sure that there is no underlying heart disease (which I really don't think there is). I have pushed off getting the prescription filled because I have just felt so overwhelmed with all these medical appt's and doctors. I know I need to get it filled because most days I can feel my heart coming right through my chest, but I guess I am just trying to take a break and give my body a break from a daily prescription-probably not the smartest thing to do. Just hopeful that it will correct itself.

wow. look at all of us... experiencing palpitations. What is the heart/female parts connection!!? And why? The more I find out how much my entire being was affected by my female organs, the more I miss them. Good luck all and if anyone finds out more on WHY we are getting the palps, let us know!

6 mo..weird abdomen sensation/heart palps
I have never found the answer to heart palps. I have had them for over 5 years and take xanax daily because it does send me into a panic. Finally the docs ARE connecting them to our hormones but they all have different ideas on what to do for them. I started having panic again and racing heart right after my LSH ( like 3 hours after) and have been adjusting my meds with my shrink. I cant take antidepressants and xanax and klonopin are much cheaper anyway. You should always get checked out by the doc, I have been checked about every two years..........but they know me as a "panic" patient so that is how i am labeled. Over the years i have talked to MANY women and even strangers would come up to me and tell me about theirs. I hate them and some days it keeps me housebound with panic. I reserve the right to be called the QUEEN of PALPS tho
It is very interesting that we all have them tho.
