Something to smile about

Just wanted to share a sweet moment with everyone that occurred a couple weeks post-op. My 6-year-old niece came over with my sister's family, and upon hugging me (gently) hello at the door, she looked up at me and asked if my stomach's feeling better. I told her it's doing fine, and thanked her for asking. Most of my family's been very supportive and checking up on me and so forth, but it's the little ones like my niece that bring a smile when you most need it.
p.s., I told all the little ones in the family that I had a problem with my stomach as an explanation for my hysterectomy. Figured it was the easiest way for them to understand.

That is great, thanks for sharing. I think I told people so constantly how great I felt after surgery, they barely got the chance to inquire!

little ones

Both my DDs had a "kids say the darn'dest things" moment re my operation.

My 8yr old to her piano teacher: "She's having an operation, but don't worry, they are just taking out the part that grows the babies."

My 7yr to me in the hospital, by phone: "All of my friends said that you are going to die. Montana is really broken up about it!".

LOL
