I have both endo and adeno - anyone else?

I have both endo and adeno. After trying to control the cramping with b/c and doing more bad than good, I decided to have the TAH (scheduled for January 4, 2006). I just want my quality of life back. I don't want to live my life with a heating pad attached to my stomach and living on motrin.
Anyone out there have or had both endo and adeno??? If yes and you had the TAH, was there relief? Deana

I have both endo and adeno - anyone else?

Hi Deana,
I had endo and adeno. I had horrible cramps that almost made me cry. My back hurt all the time and I had bladder spasms and had to urinate every 30 minutes. I had periods that never ended and felt gross.
I am happy to say that when I woke up from surgury and to this day I have not had a back ache!!
I am still having complications from my hyst but I thank God that my back ache and cramps are gone.
Good Luck whatever decision you make. Make sure you dr is Board Certified (you dont want anyone practicing on you!) and always get a second opinion. : )

Good luck with your pending surgery! I had my TAH (ovaries intact) Oct 19th. The pathology came back with adenomyosis with very small ovarian cysts.

I'm almost 6-wks post-op now and haven't felt this good in YEARS! I think recovery is based on how you feel about having the surgery. I was so ready for it at the time and have no regrets. My pros for the surgery far outweigh any of the cons I may have come up with prior to the fact.

I've read several posts here from those who've had issues after the fact, but the majority of those were the ones that appeared to fight it from the beginning. Those who were emotionally ready for the surgery appear to recover a lot faster and have a much better attitude.

Just remember all that you'll be losing in a positive light - no more pain - no more bleeding - quality of life mucho improved upon - no more living your life around your cycles - no more heating pads - no longer eating pain killers as if they were candy - etc!!!!!

Yes, I too have both. I'm scheduled for Dec. 5, so I'll let you know how I feel. While I am getting anxious, I'm also looking forward to this. I really do want my life back. Heck, at the rate I'm going, I could pass my LIVER and never know it because all those yukky clots I have are the size of internal organs - gross!

My mother, my friends who have had hysters, and many of the sisters on this site, say that they didn't know nice it felt to be "normal" again. I am 42 years old, in good health, at a healthy weight, eat right, etc., etc., and my condition makes it exhausting for me to go to the grocery store! I'm always at the mercy of my female organs! Yikes -- what a weird way to live.....

I just know that we're going to feel better, and that we're going to be encouraging others when all this is over! Good luck to you!
