Results from the New Doctor!

Well, as some of you know I have had chronic infections in my vagina for weeks n weeks.. The new doctor found bacteria that I am being treated for with Clinesse right now and in a few days another dose and she says that I should be Bacteria free.. But she did do a CT Scan and she told me that I have a Cist on my left Ovary, and when she told me this I WAS really mad.. I just was cut open and told that my ovaries were fine.. But if there was a cyst, why wouldnt the doctor have removed it.. This new doctor told me that she wants me to come back in 2 months to see if the cyst still is there, has it grown or whatever... So.. I guess I am just a little bit aggrivated.. Just wanting to vent, cause now I am freaked that they might have to cut me again for my ovarian cyst in the next few months and I really dont think that I can handle it.

radlilred,

I am glad to hear your new Dr. found out what bacteria was infecting you and is treating it, hopefully this will be the last infection you'll have. I have had three myself since my hysterectomy, so I can relate.

About the cysts, don't be too aggravated. The main reason I had the surgery was because I had multiple ovarian cysts. They were being monitored every 4-6 weeks by US, and they came and went that quickly. On one US, they would tell me the right ovary had 5 cysts andthe left had none, and on the next (6 weeks later) they would say they didn't see any on the right and found two on the left ovary. That is how quickly they can come and go, and if they come and go that quickly, that is a very good sign that it is probably a functional cyst which is part of the ovulation process and no big deal. My problem was that one of the cysts became complex (had solid matter) and didn't change from month to month. That was when they said it needed to be removed (the ovary) and biopsied. Since I had numerous cysts on the right ovary, we decided to remove it as well, and one cyst was hemorragic on biopsy (meaning it was bleeding), which probably caused much of my pain. I had the uterus out because I am on tamoxifen and endometrial cancer is a big concern. I also had fibroids and adenomyosis. So, even though I know you have been frustrated with your old doc, I can tell you from experience that ovarian cysts come and go very quickly, so your ovaries may have been fine during your surgery, and the cyst just developed in the last 2-3 months. Hope when you go back the cyst is all gone and you won't need any more surgery. My understanding is if the cyst is functional, they usually will just leave it be.

Hi Radilred,

I too have a cyst on my left ovary, but they told me it was fine during surgery. They removed my right ovary at the time because it was 'overtaken' by a huge cyst, but said the left was fine.
So it must have grown in 6 weeks. They're sending me for a scan, too.
