4 wks post-op vomiting & diarreah

Hello! I'm new to this site and happy to have found it. I have been doing great after an abdominal hysterectomy (kept ovaries). Last week I was given permission to drive. I have since had "pinching" internal pain, diarreah and vomiting, along with a backache. I am hoping it's just the flu. Anyone experience this? Thanks!

I am new also. I too had an abdominal, but everything was taken, including the ovaries. I never experienced any of the sickness you described, just some mild nausea that was apparently caused by hormonal fluctuations with the artificial estrogen. It has since stopped since getting my estrogen dosage adjusted. Also, for about three or four weeks, I used a folded bath towel across my lower abdomen underneath the seat belt. That really helped to avoid any problems.

I think you should give your doctor a call just to be on the safe side. I had a sudden case of bloody diarrhea my 3rd week out. I called my GP about it, but he wanted my surgeon to be the one to see me since I'd not yet been released from his care.

Hope you feel better soon. Let us know what you find out, okay?

Best wishes & s,
Beth
