Questions about cervical cancer

Hi,

I'm looking for some info about cervical cancer. I'll start with a little bit of my own history. I'm a 39 year old woman who had a Hysterectomy in Oct 2002. I went through 5 yrs of infertility treatment (9 cycles of IVF with 2 sucessful pregnancies (3 children) and 3 miscarriages & 2 ectopic pregnancies). Three ovarian cysts that required surgery and the last one resulting in my hyst. A twin pregnancy that required a cerclage and a 9 week hospital stay.
My now ex husband had herpes before I met him and late in our marriage I ended up with them. Ok as you can see I've been through alot and I tend to worry when ANYTHING seems out of the norm.

For the past 6 months I've noticed pain with intercourse and that dull achy feeling in my lower tummy (sometimes swear I have a cyst....but guess you need ovaries to have that!) Over the past few months my legs have had a strange aching feeling and shortly after that began I started having a watery but white milky discharge, it's not really foul smelling but not normal smelling either....if that makes sense.. I have no itching or redness.

I know this is jumping the gun but while looking on the web for possible reason for these symptons I noticed alot of my symptons are those of cervical cancer. Although I have no bleeding, but of course I have no uterus. What is the discharge like when someone has
cervical cancer? The only thing I've found is "watery" but they don't mention color? I'm certain I don't have a yeast infection as my discharge is not cheesy and I did try the over the counter meds avaiable and there was not change in the discharge. Any thought?

Questions about cervical cancer

Hi Tracy,

There are many things such as bacterial infections which can cause a discharge, so you definitely need to see your doctor as soon as possible so you can put your mind at ease.

Have you had a Pap test recently? If not, that would be your next step.

Good luck and s,

Lisa

Questions about cervical cancer

Was your cervix left in place when you had you hysterectomy? When did you last have a pap smear? When I had cervical cancer I had a thin, watery, discharge but it had no odor and no color until later when I began to have some spotting. You might have a bacterial infection, or lots of other things. Make an appointment with your gyn and have it checked out.

Best,
janie

How "profuse" are these "thin, watery discharges" attributed to cervical cancer?

Questions about cervical cancer

My discharge was fairly profuse. I didn't notice it so much during the day, but almost every morning I woke up with a rather large wet spot on my pajamas. After a couple of months I began to wear a panty liner during the day and at night. That was my only symptom of cervical cancer for months. Since my pap smears had always been negative the doctors thought it was, first, an infection then a fibroid.

Best,
Janie

Questions about cervical cancer

My cervix was left when my hysterectomy was done. I have not had a pap smear in two years.....seems everytime I go to the Dr I ended up in the hospital, so I've kind of been procrastinating. The discharge I have is white but very thin and watery. At times it almost feels so wet that I feel like I've pee'ed my pants. Is the discharge people have experinced with cervial cancer always colorless?

Cute,
If your discharge is that profuse, you need to see a doctor. You may well have a rampant bacterial infection. Not to be an alarmist, but infections can go systemic and can kill you a lot faster than cancer. Please call a doctor and make an appointment.

Good luck to you,
Janie

Questions about cervical cancer

Hello sweety,

I just had a hyst on the 6th due to cervical cancer.
These were my symptoms: Pain during/after sex with occasional bledding during, foul discharge (thought was a simple infection)
I went in had a pap and it came back abnormal, had another a bit more in deepth..came back very abnormal, had a cone procedure 1 month ago....came back CERVICAL CANCER!
Please go to your gyn or a gyn/onc and get checked! I caught mine in stage 1A. They got it all with my hyst, thank God!!!
Best wishes! Susan

Questions about cervical cancer

BUG, I had those symptoms when I had endometrial cancer, but since you don't have a uterus, but still have a vag. and cervix, GO, GET THEE...to a gyn. If you are lucky, it will be something fixable. Don't wait.

What's with the distracting, annoying green underlining of words here? I didn't make it happen.

Oh. Look. Now the green lines are gone. I think I am hallucinating. :eyes:
