Does it help fibromyalgia?

Hi, I'm scheduled for Feb. 7 to have a complete hyster. done. I've been fighting it for about 13 years or more. It is time-soon. I'm not for sure if this is the right to place to ask a question or not, I'm new and am getting use to the working of this sight.

Question: Have any of you had fibromyalgia and have found that after recovering from the surgery, that the pain was less or easier to manage? I know it will take a while to get over the intial pain of the whole think, but I'm going to think positive and be hopeful.

Thanks for your help!

Does it help fibromyalgia?

I had my TAH/BSO on 9/16. I felt pretty good right after surgery, and then at week three I stopped taking the pain meds and I was just taking Motrin, and I had a flare up. It lastest about a week. I have gradually gotten all my energy back, and I am sleeping good most nights. I really fell like the surgery has helped with the fibromyalgia. I know it is still there, but I am so much better than I was before the surgery. Good Luck

Does it help fibromyalgia?

I am almost 10 months post-op TAH/BSO and my fibromyalgia does seem to be much easier to manage since the surgery. I've had a few flare ups,but they were nothing like they used to be. Overall,I feel so much better than I had in years. My abdominal pain is gone, fibro. has eased significantly, and even my high blood pressure is back to normal. I hope that your surgery and recovery goes as smoothly as mine did. I have a life again .

Does it help fibromyalgia?

Hi 41Nina,
Thank you for your reply and help. I hope you are able to get some rest. I take Lunesta each night to help me sleep. If I don't take something, I get to the point where I can hardly walk. I'm sure you know what I am talking about. I never realised, untilt he fibromyalgia, how much we needed good rest. Do you have chronic fatigue also? I do. I hope you are able to continue to recover. Thanks for the support!

I've got Fibro and it went completely away after my surgery, for about 4 months, then slowly came back.
