It's probably up to you

Hi

There shouldn't be any reason that you would gain weight after surgery if your ovaries are left. Sometimes women gain weight if they go on HRT, but that can be controlled with determination, if it's a problem at all.

You just need to be conscious of your eating habits while you're recuperating and not exercising much!

Hope all goes well for you . . .

I too am very small and was very concerned about weight gain and just the "turning into my mom" syndrome. I am 6 weeks today and have LOST 10 lbs. I lost the weight the first 2 weeks, probably because I had no appetite. My appetite is pretty good now but I am being very careful in what I eat because I am not near as active as I had been. My point is, you should not gain weight if you are careful and you will NOT turn into your mother!!!

If you are that conscious of your weight then you should do fine. Some say they gain due to the HRT, and some may gain from being inactive while recuperating.

In my experience, I LOST 28 lbs after my surgery. Which was a blessing, because I definitely needed to lose
