almost 6 weeks and tired

Well, I just feel like I'm 100 years old! I just want to sleep and I feel achy. I have been out shopping and running errands and feel fine while doing them..and then I get home and just want to pass out. I go to bed by 9pm or so and sleep at least 9 hrs a night. I thought I would feel better ( have more energy) by now. Is this something others have gone through? I am not on HRT and don't want it. Minor hot flashes and that's it. Could it be that? I've been to the Doctor and sometimes I think they are clueless....we figure it out here better than they do!!!

I'm only at 2 weeks, but at my check up yesterday my Doc said this fatigue, achy feeling will be my constant companion for a very long time. He said it's a difficult balance between doing enough to get your energy reserves back, but not doing too much that you deplete them.

I'm still "bone tired" as he calls it.

almost 6 weeks and tired

My surgery was Sept. 26, and when I shop the whole day, I go home and nap! Our bodies just need extra rest and recovery takes time...
We just have to let our bodies tell us what it needs. Six weeks is still on the early side - each week gets better and you'll last longer!

Hi,
While the fatigue is pretty normal especially when you're busy shopping and all you might want to consider that it could be hormonal too. I think its a good sign that while you are out doing your shopping you feel ok. I was anemic before and after surgery and shopping was so hard for me for months. I did finally come out of it and feel 'normal' again. I know while it was here I felt it would never end.
If it doesn't continue to get better you might want to consider some kind of help hormonally. I think 6 wks is a little early to tell.

I think 6 weeks is too early to tell as well. I was given some advice this week which was listen to my own body because we are all different. There will always be someone who was playing badminton after two weeks and back at work - we can't all be like this. It is major surgery.
