I'm using vitamin E at bedtime and a vit. E cream during the day (less greasy). How long does it take scars to heal/fade? I've never had surgery before so have no idea what to expect. Will the bikini line scar relax so my belly bulge won't look so weird?

I am dealing with the same thing! That belly bulge looks so weird to me!

As far as the scar - from my experience with a previous surgery for removal of my appendix, it healed in like 6 months or so, nice & smooth & only visible if you look for it.... That scar is much smaller in length though.

Good Luck!

Hi,

I had a vertical incison.

Have been using Vitamen E and like you, the cream that has Vit. E and cocoa butter over it.

I also tried a tube of Merderma.

Nothing seems to be changing things at all. I'm 3 months post-op on Monday. Maybe time is the only great healer here.

My Dr. says just keep it moist.

Sorry guys.......I have had 3 ab surgeries and they never go away. They fade out to white though. The bulge does away, unfortunately it takes a few months for that to happen. My LAVH is bulging too, I hate it but not stressing too bad because I have been there before and know it will shrink in a few months. Good luck! I have some hard bumps under my little incisions from the LAVH that are stressing me though. I have never had the hard bumps before, I hope I don't have to have them cut out!

sar-gurl, I have had lap surgery three times before, and always had bumps under the incisions. They have always disappeared, not sure of the time scale though, can't remember.
