Wink - New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005 New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005

Hi!

I am absolutely smothered with cold today, keeping up with the drinks, and buried under a pile of washing and ironing. Oh well, keeps me out of mischief.

We're not planning anything tonight, just staying in with a couple of glasses of night, might see the new year in, depends on how I feel later. Just chilling out with a film or two!

Where are you off to? Anywhere nice?

If I don't manage to get near this computer today, everyone have a lovely evening, and I wish you all the best for a peaceful, happy new year!

New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005

Morning Fran and all who will follow...

Can't believe today is the last day of this year... DH & I are just planning a quiet evening at home... a nice way to usher in the New Year...

Well... I did it!! Made it to the gym last night (30 mins on the elliptical) & then took the dogs out for their walk. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I really did miss going to the gym.

For those that need it..

Wishing you all a Wonderful New Years Eve... and as for a new slogan... how about "No Excuses in '06".

I will be spending the evening alone watching movies. DH is working afternoon shift and will be home around midnight, unless he has to work over like he did last night (got home at 5am). So maybe I will be sleeping in the New year and maybe that means I will have a restful New Year. ;-)
Oldest and youngest DSs will be off with friends and middle DS will be sleeping because he gets up at 3:30am to go to work.
bkfst today is oatmeal
lunch will be a salad
dinner will be soup
Fran, I hope you are feeling better.
Sue, good for you making it to the gymn and feeling better for it. You go girl!!!!
Emily, What a great speech!! I am with ya! We can make it happen!
I am off to eat my bkfst, I know it is late but I slept in this morning and walked Gertie and I am feelin very hungry about now. Have a great New Years BEST.

New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005

Aaannnnd here I am, finally! Hi BEST Friends

Wow - I wonder where the holiday season went, much less an entire year. Does the time fly by faster and faster as we age? I hope not. I have a LOT of living to do yet and I want to enjoy every second, minute, year of it!!!

Had and enjoyable evening at our neighbors. Another couple was supposed to be there, but had an emergency w/their dog. Poor thing needs surgery. But had fun despite the small crowd of 4, lol.

Slept in again today - after getting up, I got laundry started, off to Walmart to spend money on Xmas items at 75% off - that's what I love about after Xmas sales - I get the wrap, boxes, etc....for next year so cheap!!! Ran into the grocery store for 6 items for tonight. And home to put all my wrapping stuff away till next year. Bedroom is back in order, thank goodness.

Hung a new birdfeeder I received. It's supposed to be squirrel proof - we'll see. LOL. Got some other odds and ends tied up - that's always a good thing. Starting to pare down my plans for open house. Decided I didn't need sooooo much food....I'll be cutting back and that will save me work for sure. Just really want to have finger foods that most can be easily prepared. Then I can enjoy my company.

Food today is bad - skipped bkft - only had a mug of split pea soup for a late lunch and dinner will be homemade pizza. We're planning on a very lite snack to bring in the New Year - if we're still awake that is, LOL. DH is at work and I'm hoping he doesn't get stuck - usually it happens on New Years - but overtime would be good also. Pays the extra holiday bills.

Margo - I loved your poem last evening...read it when I came in today. Glad to have your expressive pros urging us on!!

Emily - yep - we gonna do this thing. We're getting some good slogens....need to pick just one (sorta like eating potato chips?). LOL

Sue - your dancing, partying, and jumping smilies must be a reflection of your mood - your gonna have a great 2006 with that wonderful attitude - good for you!!

Fran - I sure wish you could ring in the New Year without the sniffles. Take care and get plenty of rest to beat off this bug.

Well, I'm off to read for an hour before I start on our pizza. It usually comes out so light - I'm looking forward to a slice.

Hugs to all - maybe I'll get to check in later. If not - I'm sending wishes to each and every one of you for a wonderful evening and a very Happy New Year!

OP STICKS WITH 2006 - BRING IT ON!!

Hugs - Melissa

New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005

Hi All,

I've had another slow day; just ran a few errands & did some laundry. Food has been bad bad bad. I had pizza at a party last night and french bread pizza today for lunch.

I'm not sure if we are doing anything tonight. We were supposed to go hear a friend's band play & do some dancing but DH has decided he doesn't want to go. He is being a real pill.

Well I'm off to figure out an alternative for the evening. I hope everyone has a safe, healthy, BEST New Year.

New Year's Eve 31 Dec 2005

Good evening BEST s

I can't believe that it's New Year's Eve: where did the time go????

Today is very, very and we're all tired, so we're taking it easy. We did go to my mom's for lunch and it was a very enjoyable afternoon. stayed alone and was amazingly good: no mess to greet us.

Food's been bad: no breakfast, lunch of all kinds of snacks and supper, when I get around to it, will probably be more snacks. Exercise has not been in the picture today either.

I know that tomorrow will not be OP: we're having our annual shrimpfest for supper
