The website you recommended is very useful. I would be interested in hearing from any of you charming ladies who have had a hysterectomy to help deal with the pain of endo. I have suffered for the last 11 years and have now decided to have a lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy on June 1. Hopefully, this will help with my chronic pain.

I had one! I had endo but had a rapid recurrance of pain (and the pain never completely resolved) after all my laparoscopies, my last one being in June 2000. I had my hysterectomy March 7. I had very little recurrence of endo except on the uterus. The pathology report came back positive for adenomyosis, in which endo invades the wall of the uterus.

This has resolved my remaining menstrual pain and painful orgasm (so far, that is). I'm hoping to get cleared next week to check out the other sexual "stuff". Good luck to you on your surgery.

I had a hyster for endo and I'm still in pain because the doc didn't remove the endo at the time of surgery and also left an ovarian remnant inside -- at least that's what they're telling me this week. Sorry it's not better news, but you asked for personal accounts, and unfortunately that's mine.
