Please Help ! 1 year post TVT, 5 months post vag. hist. STILL HURTS TO PEE!

1 year ago I had a TVT procedure. Had a few complications and had to cath for several months. Also had strictures in my urethra and had it dilated twice. Then developed a cystocele and after trying pessary etc. I had a vaginal hysterectomy. Had a abcess burst at home 7 days later & had to be on IV antibiotics for 5 days etc. Had a bladder infection for 3 months before I got it under control. Still have terrible burning when I pee. Had another dilation but the doc. said my urethra and bladder looked good. Decided to try treating myself for a yeast infection, as I have the burning and itching no discharge or odor but I tried it anyways. That didn't make any difference. The doc. says he can't see anything wrong but I am in agony when I pee & it gets worse as the day goes on. I am taking Estrogen tabs. & cream twice a week. He thinks my problem is low estrogen(although I kept my ovaries). I am wondering if the Bladder sling is causing pressure on my urethra? Anyone have any ideas or experience with this. I'm at my witts end & sick of being sick ! Any help would be great.

When in doubt, get a second opinion. Go see as urologist, ASAP.

I agree see a urologist as they are the specialists - maybe you have IC - that causes pain. In the meantime have you tried AZO - it take the acidity out of your urine and helped me a lot with the pain. Let us know what you find out. Hugs.

Thank you for reply

I have seen a urologist. He did the original TVT, and subsequent dilations. He did look for IC but it is not present. Can you tell me what AZO is? I feel my urine is definitely causing a lot of the burning. I can't thank you and the previous person who posted here enough for your help. I'm not very familiar with using this resource so please be patient with my replies. It is sooo nice too reach out and have someone offering help like this. I am so frustrated with my issues for this past year. I had the TVT because I just wanted to stop peeing my pants everytime I laughed, sneezed etc. & I seem to have opened a Pandora's Box of female medical problems. Again , thank you for your interest & help.

AZO is an over the counter pill you take - it makes your urine turn orange - the main ingredient is also sold under another name - sorry I threw away my box - so don't know that ingredient. I think you can also get a prescription for basically the same thing.
Anyway - you take it about every 5 or 6 hours and it takes the acidity out and helped me so much - I have been through 6 boxes of it. I have found a generic version of it at a local pharmacy. Good Luck I hope it helps you.
