the moral of the story...

hi girls!

today i am 4 weeks & 1 day post op and it's the best i've felt yet.

i posted the other day about massive pains in my tum - that i felt was more than just the pulled muscle. i suspected my jeans were the culprit.

well i'm having my 3rd non-jeans day, and i've got hardly any tummy pain at all! even going to the toilet hasn't hurt today! moving in bed hasn't hurt today! de nada!

soooo the moral of the story is, no matter how much you want to, don't let pride & looking 'normal' get in the way of a good recovery! don't wear those jeans just yet!the time will come for jeans again, but i'm not going to wear them for a couple more weeks until everything is back to normal.

the warnings should be no lifting, no sex & no jeans for 6 weeks!

luv to you all!
kaz xx
whose swelling is going down, and feels soooo much better! even if i do look like a dag in my trackie dacks!

I can put my jeans on, but it squishes, so I won't wear them yet! <oops! comments removed off topic from the original poster.>

I wore a girdle the other day, and was way more sore the next 3 days after that. So I am just gonna let this sucker hang!

My recovery must be taking longer than yours, because when the muscles started pulling against the stitches it wasn't a good thing for me.

the moral of the story...

I can remember having to wait more than 6 weeks to get back into my jeans safely and comfortably. A panty girdle helped me a lot when I was close to fitting into pants...and needed something to wear!

Until then, I spent a lot of time in my stretchy workout pants.

Note: Ladies, I removed a bunch of posts on this thread that were off topic, unrelated to the original post and the question of this thread. Thanks for understanding that appropriate replies address the comments and questions of the original thread starter and should not take on an entire conversation unrelated to the first author. It is her thread and her topic.

No way I'm wearing my regular jeans yet, even at 9 weeks. Luckily I bought a pair of elastic waist jeans a size too big before surgery thinking they would make a nice change from sweats.

I was able to put a drawstring in so I can snug them up when I'm not so swelly, but when my tummy expands that string is untied and I stay comfy. Okay, they don't look exactly like my regular jeans, but they are quite acceptable.

Hi Kaz!
I'm so glad to hear that the pains you were having went away. As I told you in your other post, I found the jeans were causing pain as well if I wore them all day. So I only wear them now if I'm running out to the store and feel good enough to wear them.
Glad you're feeling better!
All the Best,
Laurie

If you feel you 'have' to wear jeans, thread a rubberband in the button hole, then it will stretch to your button. I did that to church last Sunday.(was no way in hades going to wear a maternity dress again to church) Just a tip someone gave me.
