Cosmetic Surgery for Incision Scar?
Have any of my sisters considered this? If so, would you share your thoughts.

Cosmetic Surgery for Incision Scar?
Pat can they really do anything? Must admit I was once offered "corrective surgery" for my episiotomy scar (excuse spelling) had to have a rather large cut when had middle son by normal delivery his shoulders were stuck.
What I would like is for them to remove all the messy scar tissue behind the scar because it is still giving me problems 9 months post op - I am living with it for the moment as recommended by my G.P. but seems a bit unfair. Would be very interested to know what they can and cannot do. Must admit scar itself is not very pleasant - had a rather large hole at one end which looks really odd or at least I think it does, thank goodness only D/H gets to see me in the altogether. Sounds awful I know but wouldn't want anyone else to look at it.

Cosmetic Surgery for Incision Scar?
Don't know if plastic surgery would make the incision scar less noticeable. Don't know if it is even an option. But, I am interested in making my scar less ugly to look at. It is such a constant reminder.

plastic surgery
I had a tummy tuck, and plastic surgery doesn't always make the perfect scar. You can go to a plastic surgeon for a consult (mine was free) and they will tell you there are various factors that go into healing; if you smoke, your type of skin, the way you scar, weight gain and loss, color of skin, etc. Plus you have to realize insurance would not pay for this, it would be an out of pocket expense; more than likely it would be considered elective surgery by the insurance company. You can, after surgery and full healing, get a consult on softening the scar. A consult is worthwhile; my surgeon is board certified, been practicing in this field for over 13 years. I had to have a consult to be determined as a candidate for the abdominoplasty; some people have factors that won't allow them to even have more simple surgery. Best of luck; it's always worthwhile to ask. I found my plastic surgeon throuh my GYN, they have practiced together for around 11 years. Be very choosey about your plastic surgeon; you're health may depend on it!!
