Hysterectomy pain a year later - Help anyone!

I had my hysterectomy on November 11th, 2004 and now I am having pain in my lower abdomen. By the end of my work day the pain is so bad I have to use my cane to walk! I am so scared this may mean more surgery! and it looks like the right side of my tummy is larger than the left! If anyone else is experiencing any kind of pain a year later please let me know what you're doing.

Thank you!!

Call your doctor

This is definitely a change that your doctor will want to know about. He/she will also want to know if you have an elevated temperature, when the pain started, what makes it feel better and what makes it worse.

That side of your abdomen could be bowel, or even appendix (If you still have one, of course....).

Am so sorry to hear you're in pain. Please let your doctor know. They, or whomever is on call for them, can be reached by calling the hospital they frequent after office hours. The operator should be able to contact through an answering service.

Please keep us posted.............s.....Deb

Hysterectomy pain a year later - Help anyone!

Oh no...!
I have also been experiencing pains in my lower abdomen; mostly showing up after work. Kind of like the pinching, tightening, crampy type feeling I had at about four months or so.
I am on my feet up to nine hours at a time at work, pain sensations do seem to be there more when I am working.
I was thinking the pains could maybe be related to recurring uti's...

So I guess we can't explain away these new pains as another long term recovery phase?

shoot!

I didn't even think about it being my appendix! I'll be sure and mention that at my dr. appt. on Thursday. I hope not, I do not want to have anymore surgeries! I had an infection when I went in for my 2 week check up (no signs) and I had to have a second surgery, they left the wound open and connected me to a wound vac machine for 3 months!!! It was pure torture!!! Thank you fgor the helpful advice and the Most needed Hug!
