A turning point

It's been 3 weeks since my TAH (to treat endometrial cancer) on 12/20/05. I feel like I've reached a milestone: the constant pinching pain is decreasing, but now I feel so extremely exhausted. It feels like my limbs are made of cement and I can barely drag myself around. I sleep at night (dr prescribed Ambien)and nap during the day...but the fatique is horrible. Thankfully friends are still providing dinner for my family. Here in the Philadelphia area, we're experiencing a very mild and sunny January. I'd love to get out and take a walk but can't imagine dragging myself even as far as my back yard.
Anyone else experience this 'milestone'? Advice?

A turning point

YES!! And, it does get better. Pretty soon you'll be having more 'up' days than down.

Are you sleeping at night because of the Ambien? It can make you hung over and if your energy level is nil anyway...make things way worse.

A turning point

3 weeks isn't really all that long. If you're still taking pain killers, or just recently stopped them, they could be the culprit. If you're small and were in need of alot of pain meds while in the hospital, that also could be the problem. It takes quite a while for all of that stuff to work itself out of our systems. Also, as Kristy mentioned, the Ambien could be doing it. Things will get better and before you know it, you'll have your energy back. Hang in there.

Right now I'd give my left arm to be able to sleep at night!
