LSh and laying on your stomach

I am wondering if any one can tell me if at about two weeks post surgery can you lay on your stomach? weird question I know But I want to keep up my appointment with the chiropracter I will wait untill the dr gives me the OK but I cant go any longer than 2 weeks without getting an adjustment. It really helps my back I am going every 10 days and when I go to 2 weeks Ihave to go every other day for a week to catch up. This sounds like addiction But I would rather do that for pain than take pain meds that make you loopy or surgery. The chiropracter helps with my sinuses and breathing as well. Just scared about this pain and the surgery pain good luck every one

LSh and laying on your stomach

I honestly think that is a question that you may want to check with your dr on. My mom loves her chiropractor and starts hurting again if he don't whack her back into place within 2 weeks.

LSh and laying on your stomach

Hi Celtic D,

I too had a LSH. The first week after my LSH, I could not sleep on my side or my stomach. Afer a week, it got better. Just used a lot of pillows the first few days.

At 2 weeks, I could just suggest you get a Dr's okay and test out laying on your stomach at home. Also, you might see if your chiropractor could do your adjustment while you are primarily on your back. I go to a chiropractor for my lower back and lying on your back might be a more comfortable position so soon after surgery. It is mostly because your stomach area might still be tender from the hyst.

We LSH ladies can also get swelly belly in post-op. I had it for about 10 days post-op and the thought of laying on my stomach did not appeal to me. So, just weigh what works for you in post-op.

Best wishes,

Mary

LSh and laying on your stomach

Celtic D,
I was like historylady when it came to sleeping and lying. As far as pain from the surgery, I think it will not be that bad. More discomfort than actual pain. Talk to your dr. and take all advice on recovery. Best of luck to you.
