Post-Op Vaginal Odor

Hello ladies, I wanna first wish everyone a bright cheery day! Quick question: Has anyone experienced a post-op vaginal odor?? As of this week I am 6 weeks post-op (uterus removed thru abdominal incision; kept ovaries and cervix). Had HUGE fibroids and feeling really good now..phew! What a relief. A few days ago I had my 2nd post-op visit w/ the GYN who said everything is fine...cleared me and hubby for intercourse again (yay!!). But I noticed a strong odor when the GYN did the internal exam. There is no discharge and I never smelled anything before, until, she went in. I'm sure she noticed it (I sure DID!!) but I'm confused because she didn't say anything. Is this normal? Will it go away and where did it come from?? thanks ladies! peace to all! I don't usually douche cuz it's not really healthy for ya.

Post-Op Vaginal Odor

You can have an odor from dissolving stitches. You may want to clarify with your dr in case she didn't notice, but usually you are okay unless you also have discharge and a fever. When I had asked my dr about the odor, he had asked that I come in if I noticed it again, no appt necessary, just in case it was infection. Best wishes to you!
