Pain after driving?

Oh ye wise recovering Princesses. I have a question regarding driving.
I have been driving short distances this week and afterwards I have a pain on my right side. Is this normal?

Pain after driving?

in a word *yes* It took me a few weeks after I was able to drive before I could get out of the drivers side of the car without pain on my right side. I had to go through a lot of changes before I got out of the car. Like move the seat all the way back and lift the stirring wheel all the way back and it still hurt. After a while you learn what will cause those *little pains and twinges* some are avoidable and some are not.
Happy driving
Debbie

Pain after driving?

I'm from the UK and was advised that insurance companies here don't need to be informed if you wait until 6 weeks to drive. With the holidays and so on this was easy for me to do. That said, I couldn't really get in and out of the car easily before then so glad I waited.

Pain after driving?

I haven't driven yet but my hubby has been trying to get me 'out' at every opportunity and so we drove about half an hour away to go to a store yesterday. We took a very bumpy highway and oi vey, did it every hurt my right side!! It did not like getting jiggled around at all. I'm supposed to return to work in another week and I'm not sure I'll be able to drive all the way there (also a half hour away). Help!

Pain after driving?

I've been driving since week 2... I didn't have a choice since I'm single and live alone. The first day, I was pretty tired by the time I made it home and it got better after that. I've had pain off and on on my right side since the surgery, but that has dissipated. When I first started driving, the normal way of getting in and out of the car, did not work for me. I would sit my butt down first and then turn into the car, unlike the norm of putting the foot in first and allowing the body to follow. I'm just over 4 wks now and driving like I was prior to the surgery... and for that I am blessed.

I drove yesterday for the first time and have pain on my left side. Today I think I'll let someone else drive me. Go Redskins!

Pain after driving?

I have been driving since week 2 which is when my Dr. said it would be o.k. I have noticed a little discomfort getting in and out and the bumps don't feel too good but at least I can control those a little better when I am the driver!! The worst part of driving for me is the "brain fuzz" I still experience. I don't always feel like I am totally in control behind the wheel. I go back to work on Tues. so I will have to drive -- I'm just going to be sure I am fully rested before I take off. Go Broncos!!

Pain after driving?

I think the right side pain is due to using your right foot on the accelerator and brake. You use your abs to help lift your foot, ergo.... however that doesn't really explain geoD's left side pain?!? I drive standard so both sides got a workout when I drove early in recovery.

Cheers
