prayer request

I would like to request prayer for myself from my fellow hyster sisters. I had a recent mammogram done where they found a suspicious area that needs investigating. They said that the area is only showing up on one view of my mammogram, not any of my ultrasounds, but shows up on my breast mri. It is deep within my chest wall near my pec muscle. I have family history on both sides (maternal and paternal) of breast cancer. They are sending me to <Oops! Hospital name removed for your privacy and safety> see a breast cancer specialist this Thursday, Jan. 19 for a consult. He plans to do a breast biopsy of the area after the consult. I am continuing to keep my trust in God and to keep my eyes on Him. He was faithful through my recent TAH surgery and recovery (Oct 2005). I am feeling great in that area. If anyone has any experience in this area, I would appreciate any words of encouragement and support. I would greatly appreciate all prayers from all my hyster sisters throughout all this.

Thanks to all and God bless!!!

Carol.

Unfortunately, I have experience in that area. In April, I had my routine mammogram. Since I have dense breasts, they also did an ultra-sound. Nothing showed up on the mammogram, but on the ultra-sound they found something in my left breast. They could not determine whether it was a solid nodule or a complex-cyst. I went to a surgeon who prescribed a breast biopsy. After talking with the radiology office that did the ultra-sound and mammogram, I convinced the surgeon to change the orders to cyst aspiration versus breast
biopsy. In other words, if it was a cyst, only aspiration was needed. If not, they would do the biopsy. It turns out it was a cyst that had hardened over time. The cyst fluid was benign.
I know first hand how frightening this ordeal can be. I pray that you also hear those lovely words "benign." Please remember that
most of these cases are benign. May God be with you.

(((Carol))),

I will also be praying that it is something benign like a cyst. I will pray that the Dr's will be able to use the least invasive proceedure to find the information they need for a correct diagnosis.

in there. God is bigger than this.

S,
Kay
