Having a hard time

figuring out what I can and can't do.

I feel great. I'm healed externally, but how long until I heal internally? I do have some pain, but its tolerable. Mostly I have a burning type pain where my cervix used to be.

I take 800mg of Motrin twice a day for pain. That's mostly for my back.

I go back for my post-op this week. The pathology report should be back on the complex cyst.

I still have some mild spotting and have to wear a pantyliner.

Having a hard time

Hi, take it easy! Remember that even thought you look good on the outside, there was alot of work done on the inside. My hys was my 6th surgery of this type. I always felt good after a couple of weeks, went back to work did all the normal things. This time my nurses at the hospital read me the riot act. You onlyhave once chance to heal properly, do it right!
Get caught up on some reading or rent some chick flicks. DONOT overdo it, lots of harm can be done if you do. I took her advice and although it's hard sometimes, I'm feeling greatand I know it's because I took it cool. I hope everything is good with the cyst, I have had that scare, I understand, I'll be thinking of you.

Having a hard time

You are still very early in your recovery and you should follow your doctor's instructions for your own care. While initial recovery is about 6 - 8 weeks, it can take up to a year to completely heal. You should be sure to allow your body the time it needs to heal. You only get one chance to heal, so you might as well to your best to do it right.

You might want to read Checkpoints. It is broken down into weeks and you will find a lot of helpful information to help you through recovery and beyond.

An article that might be helpful is Help - Allowed? Not Allowed?.

Best wishes for a smooth recovery!
