1 Week Anniversary
I am experiencing the mild discomfort the DR's call it. On and off pain, already the stitches are itching. Vertical insision, I really wanted a LAVH. "some pouting here." Getting better every day. Screwed up sleep pattern but grateful that I can sleep in. DH going back to work today, he has been hovering way too much, more work to keep telling him, I'm alright.

1 Week Anniversary
It is my 2 week since surgery day. I am well happy with the progress. I had a 9 inch vertical incision. It is completely healed on the outside. No scabs at all. I am putting cocoa butter with vitamin e lotion on it, it has really helped sooth the itching. My husband goes back to work tomorrow. He has been really good but then again I am able to pretty much do everything for myself. I won't vacuum or take out the rubbish. And I don't plan on doing that until my 6 week check up. I am glad you are doing well.

[b]Hi ladies, I too had a TAH...about an 8 to 9 inch vertical incision. I am 2 days form 4 wks post op. I am healed pretty much on the outside. I only have very few staple scabs. The incision is fine. I do however, have a lump in my incision that is about the size of a kidney bean. It doesn't hurt or anything . I think it came from my straining to get up and down during my first 2 wks. I go back to my gyn on the 23rd. Since it is not giving me problems I just assumed to wait until I go back to point it out. If any one has any idea what it may be, please drop that bit of information. I wish you all well in your continued recovery.........Sw88tp8a

1 Week Anniversary
Hi!Yesterday was my 1 week. Cant believe how fast it went?I slept in the chair for 6 days, finally back in bed. Slept all night last night. I had LAVH, still have my right ovary. I cant believe how each day gets better!Yesterday I was getting around the best I had since the surgery. Put my own shoes on HAHA. Still really tired. My husband has been great about the cooking. You can definitely tell I am down when you look at my house tho EEKS! I had a mole removed in the process. Very glad i didnt have to do that awake also, said he had to cut deep and there was lots of oozing with it. If i hadnt gotten it taken care of he said it could've turned into cancer. Im ready to be myself again. I cried last night because i miss my husband (the cuddling, hugging, intimacy). I no the 1st week went by quick, so im looking forward for this next week to pass I go for my check up Feb. 6th.
Take Care!Amber

1 Week Anniversary
Oh goodness Amber, we MUST be twins. Exact same thing here I will be one week out tomorrow and although I am doing fairly well I cried last night not being able to be with hubby and what's worse is I came down with tonsilitis so I REALLY can't let him near me. ( Got antibiotics for that) The house looks pretty bad , but oh well. He started back to work yesterday ( thank goodness ) He has been cooking and doing a pretty good job with the animals but I think my DD needs to vacuum today for sure ! Each day does get better. I even very slowly put some dishes in the dishwasher (top rack only) DH slept upsatirs on the couch the first few days ( I have a twin bed set up in the dining room) but the last 2 he went downstairs and I really did find myself pretty lonely. He askedthis morning if he should stay upstairs tonight and I told him no that's just silly. Another day or so of antibiotics and I think if he helps me downstairs I can sleep in our own bed. We are all getting a little stronger each day !

Oh gosh, that is all you need is sickness!!That is just awful. I hope the antibiotics kick in soon!! I told my husband I cant even be 'close' to him UGH. He goes 'we are close we are laying next to each other' I said 'well, i mean NEXT to each other, not 3 inches apart from one another' HAHA. He said i didnt need to cry i would be feeling better soon. I took a nap in bed i think i cried myself to sleep UGH. I am feeling tons better than this morning. I was walking and my foot bent sideways and i just about tripped, i caught myself but the sudden jerk made my body move like its not used to because i walk very carefully you no what i mean?haha. I felt a burning sensation on one of my incisions and then i felt ill again. My nap did me good tho!!
I picked up in the living room and cleared my dining table MY it was a mess haha. Emptied the bathroom trash, straigthend my hair. Took a load of laundry out of drier and put some in. Went to post office and to store ( i was hoping not to need another package of pads DARN IT) I walked across the street to take the kids to play in the school yard. Weather was nice, felt good to get out. After reading it really sounds like i did a lot but i dont feel like i did. After doing each thing i make sure to take an hour rest or so? Take care, hope that tonsilitis goes away quick!!!
Amber- i really wasnt tired of my husband yet, but i think he was getting tired of me HAHA.

WOW Amber you are doing a whole lot ! Be careful sister. I know it, I could not believe it when my tonsils got all infected , but it is better today so the antibiotics are working. I'ts so funny I read that a lot of the sisters were crying at all sorts of things and I thought Oh heck I'm a tough noodle that wont happen to me, I will be fine ........HA HA HA I'm a limp noodle more like, sure was good to know it's normal though.

1 week and happy (but bored)!
Hi Sisters--It was 1 week yesterday, and I am doing pretty well. My main complaint is that I get worn out SO FAST! Yesterday, Tuesday, was the first time I had on "real" clothes, not just my nightie and undies. Just getting dressed is wearing!! Today I rode in the car (won't drive for another week or so),and went into a store for a few minutes, and I was wasted after that. I have tried to cut out the afternoon nap, because I don't sleep well at night if I sleep during the day, and it's a bad habit to develop if I am going to go back to work in a few weeks! But when I think back to all my apprehension about everything, I praise God it's over and I am on the other side--waving at others to come join me! I have to remember to take it easy. All of you out there in the same boat--are you bored, like me? That is the other complaint. I have read so much already, and I'm not a TV fan, so, I need to work on photos and such, I guess. All my friends are at work...! Any suggestions? All are welcome! Love to the sisters....

pixiebun, you have a good point there!!I took over an hour nap yesterday and i didnt sleep worth a darn last night UGH. Felt like i was up every 30 minutes. I am so very bored i cant stand it. That is why i probably over did it yesterday. Im not a person to want to sit alot and im tired of sitttttting!!!My friends are going to lunch today and to walmart, i want to go so badly but i dont no if i should. I will have to do my hair and maybe make up..im still in sweats so i feel icky. So if i do my hair and make up it wouldnt be so bad but i dont no if im up to it?
mt_deb, I cried again last night UGH. I feel like such a baby.. I didnt want hubby to leave today but from taking so many days he already has to work over, and maybe saturday and sunday so?
I lost one ovary to the surgery, i have been sweating in bed like a crazy lady. My mother in law said that it could be that my body is trying to adjust to just having one ovary? My husband says its because i have been drinking lots of fluids?Im opting with my MIL's advice LOL. When i sweat during the day my sweats are drenched on the outside. I think i read somewhere that the bleeding normally stops at 5 days or so, im still bleeding, does it depend on when the stitches heal up inside when the bleeding stops?
Hope everyone is feeling a lil better than they did yesterday!!

I had both ovaries removed and I haven't gotten sweats but I did have a hot flash last night but nothing too serious. I'm on Estratest so maybe my body is just trying to adjust. I'm bored too and I hadn't bled at all since surgery but started a little last night. I probably did too much but I didn't DO much of anything you know ? loaded some dishes and wiped off the counters in the kitchen helped with dinner a little. honestly, it made me cranky. Guess I am impatient. I'm not a big TV person either and I'm sick of reading and I can only sit on the computer for so long and then I'm bored again (LOL) Oh well. So I didn't cry but I was rather bit%$y to my hubby. Hopefully today will be better. The tonsilitis seems to be pretty much gone so I guess the antibiotics have kicked in so that helps. Hang in there sisters I know we will get through it.
