Surgeon Q&A
Hi Sisters. I saw my surgeon yesterday for the Q&A. I used the list that is found on this site. It was great. I wore my suit, I had a pad and pen and I handed him a copy of my questions (30 in all). He went down the list and answered them all one by one. We will talk in more detail about the hormones after surgery, but I am encouraged by the start we made. We also discussed incision site. I had bladder surgery (bikini cut) as a child (I was born with renal reflux, discovered when I was 8 or 9) and my ureters are not in the place a surgeon would expect upon making an incision. When I had my c-section, I had the "up and down" incision. My surgeon has decided that my TAH incision will be the up and down incision. I'm kind of glad about that, as I am a plus-size princess, and the thought of my belly hanging over my incision was a bit of an "ouchy" thought. So anyway, the Q&A went great, I go for pre-op at the hospital on Monday 1/23 and then I'm all set! 15 days and counting to a new life. Blessings.

Surgeon Q&A
Wow Kai you are so prepared, puts me to shame. I am also due for my pre op on 23/1 and my op is scheduled for 10/2. I always taught that you jusrt accepted what the surgeon said, but now that the time is fast approaching, i realise that is not the case. however, i have started looking up facts. Can you tell me where to find the list of questions, so Ic an take them along to my pre op.
I cannot wait to be rid of the horrible fibroids, but it would be nice to know all that is involved. i am in the uk.

Never just accept what they tell you. They are people too and they can make serious mistakes. Knowledge is definitely power sister friend. I believe that is why am so calm about all this. In fact, I sometimes wonder if I should be nervous or panicking because it happens to so many sisters, but my attitude is 99.9% positive and I am DETERMINED to have a good outcome and to know as much as I possibly can about every aspect of this journey. Blessings. Robin
