another cyst found after hysterectomy

[b]i just went for another ultra sound after having a hysterectomy on 12/14 they found a cyst on the left ovary that was left there to produce estrogen because the Dr said that because of my age (38) that this was the best way to go. They also, said that there was fluid around the left ovary. Does anyone know if this is normal or should i be concerned. Another question, is it normal after 5 weeks post op when emptying your bladder to have bad cramping and off and on back pain?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

another cyst found after hysterectomy

I don't know much about ovaries - but I also have a cyst on my remaining ovary too.
I would call your doctor just to make sure you don't have a kidney or bladder infection mainly because of the back pain. I did have pain when emptying my bladder after surgery - but it eventually went away after 6 boxes of AZO. I kept checking to make sure I didn't have a bladder infection - but it never was. Good Luck remember you are still recovering. Rest, Rest, Rest.

another cyst found after hysterectomy

Hi,
I had a tumor removed on one of my ovaries and the other one they kept for the same reasoning as you. About 5 months after the surgery I started developing symptoms again and was certain something was wrong with the remaining ovary. Well it took me a while to convince doctors that something else was wrong. About 1 year to the date I had my second surgery which was a complete hysterectomy, I am 34. It was another tumor but no carcinoma!! I was told after my first surgery that I had a less than 1% chance of anything happening to my remaining ovary.
After both surgeries I had slight pain when going to the bathroom. Now because I am in menopause I have some incontigence issues but the after surgery pain has gone away and I am 4 months post-opp.
Listen to your body...you know it better than anyone else! You can PM me if you want.
Nicol
